  1. I apologize because I should've included that. Honestly my in-law did the gassing so I'll ck with him tomorrow and see what he left them at OR I'll hook up my gauges and see. He told me but it's been a day since so I can't remember. Age definitely has it's minuses and having trouble remembering is one. Thank you very much for responding and I will let you know the readings tomorrow. Have a good evening
  2. I recently replaced the a/c compressor with a well known brand. I didn't disturb any wiring except to hook up the provided wiring adapter from the new compressor to my oem plug. I've gotten some freon in it but no matter what I can't get the ac clutch to engage. I've swapped relays with no luck, all fuses are good, checked wiring continuity from the relay panel to the compressor and for power TO the relay panel and all are ok. What am I missing??? The ac worked great until I swapped the compressor and only did so because the old compressor started leaking oil from the rear cover and yes the bolts were as tight as could be but the leak continued. Any thoughts/ideas anyone? TIA
  3. Ok, so does anyone know if the upholstered console lid separates from the plastic underside? If so, how? I removed the lid from the consoles body, removed the mounting screws attaching the latch in the front then the hinge/mounting screws in the rear. Still the lid doesn't come loose from it's base. To be clear, I can remove the lid but I can't get the upholstered part to come loose from the plastic underside. Any ideas anyone? Thanks
  4. In case someone else needs to know; I added a little trans fluid, ran it and checked, and on and on til the fluid level was at the top of the mark. So, the "hash mark" from top to bottom represents one pint. The owners manual said add one pint at a time but doesn't say how much the marks mean. In older trans it usually meant 1 qt but didn't think so if newer and I didn't want to add a qt then pull some out. And to WWWPerfA_ZN0W; if my reply came across as being smart, I apologize and wasn't intentional. I knew to get it up to operating temp but I didn't know before checking the fluid level you run it thru the gears leaving it in each one 10 sec's THEN to park THEN check it. I thumbed thru the manual and maybe that's in there but I was focused on the check marks. My wife read about running thru the gears online.
  5. Thanks and I know the procedure but that's not what I'm asking. Please read my post again.
  6. My fluid level is on the bottom end of the dip stick hash mark. At that level does anyone know how much to add to bring it to full? All I find online says to add a pint then add a pint. Surely the hash mark represents some sort of measurement ie: a pint/quart. Thanks!
  7. Thanks for the welcome and appreciate the response and helpful info. I've looked online and see problems with the TSS/OSS are pretty common so that's where I'll start. The fluid is pink/healthy and the Edge has I believe 150k miles on it.
  8. Hey all. Yes I'm new here and have an issue that hopefully someone can help with. My transmission will sometimes not shift out of first gear and at times won't engage reverse. I've found if I turn it off, wait a minute or so, start it then drive away and it shifts fine as though nothing happened. I'm thinking a computer/software issue? Has anyone else experienced this and what's the fix? Thx!
