Larger wheels usually crack and brake due to a lower sidewall tire used and thus they are more prone to coming in contract with potholes and sharp edges.  we have many folks on here that have bent the 21's.

I have a nice set of 20's with new rubber if you are looking for an alternative.

I appreciate the offer, but I’m gonna stick with the 21’s. I’m mostly concerned with putting the wheels through the powder coating process and wether or not they can stand up to the heat when they’re baked.

  2. I am having a problem with two of the factory 21 inch wheels on my 15 sport, paint flaking off. I have never hit anything or curb-checked them so it’s extremely frustrating to see the paint essentially falling off. I had an Altima with factory 18 in wheels, which I had powder coated gloss black and they looked fantastic. I was going to leave them as is, but with the paint coming off I am thinking of doing the same with these 21’s. I have read about some issues with the previous edge sport 22 in wheels cracking/breaking. My question is...is anyone aware of these same type of issues with the 21’s? The last thing I want to do is cause problems by powder coating if there’s already some known issues with the strength of the wheels.

    Hi!

Glad to be here. Purchased a used 2015 Edge Sport with 29k miles two weeks ago from dealer.

Love the car. The 2.7 twin turbo is awesome.

Check Engine light came on. Went to Oreilly autoparts they connected a code scanner and it showed P1450 twice.

Also I got a 'burping' sound from rear once, it was weird. The check engine light turned off afterwards but came on again.

I am no dummy so I do understand that there is something going on vacuum wise in the tank or evap system.

My question: should I just change the purge valve or is there perhaps more to it?

I found that the purge valve for the 3.7 is not the old 20-bucks part but it is a whole assembly for 80 dollars.

    Any advice?

Just had this same code on my 2015 Mustang EB, and it turned out to be the evap purge valve. After swapping it and clearing the code, all has been well for about 500 miles now. From my research, this is a common problem on Ford vehicles, and more so on EB power plants.

  4. Going to remove the front plate bracket. Unfortunately, I have 4 holes in the bumper behind the bracket. Two to mount the bracket, and two where the previous owner used a screw that was too long, went through the bracket and into the bumper. I was going to use black, button head Phillips screws until I saw the 4 holes. So now I’m looking at adding these. Anyone used these before that can provide some feedback?

  5. Hi all, Rob here. Had the Edge for about 2 months now. She’s stock, and will stay that way for the most part. I’ll probably add an intercooler to keep heat soak down if I can find one, and a GFB DV+ at some point, but that’s all I have planned. We wanted a SUV/CUV with power, and we have it. We also have an EBM, which kind of helped turn us onto the Edge Sport. Looking forward to learning more about her here.
