  1. A little late to this party but the whole deal is its 2020. How long has Ford been designing engines? The long life fluids have been out for 20 years or so along with 100,000 mile spark plugs etc. So now you buy a new car and it takes a forum such as this to find out Ford is actually going backwards to 30,000 mile coolant changes even though the dealers and the owners manual all say good for 100,000. Now how many received a letter or anything notifying them about the suggested 30,000 mile coolant flush. Pretty much willing to bet no one.  If the coolant looks good ,who is going to know until they do lose a engine that you should have changed it every 30,000. Hell , most people nowdays goes by the oil life indicator for their oil changes. And being as technology advanced as we are nowdays , who in their right mind sticks a water pump inside a engine. Need to concentrate less on the usb ports and cupholders and a little more on the mechanical side of things.

  2. I have a 2018 Titanium  with the 6 cyl and went to pick up my daughter a new 2020 but noticed they discontinued the 6cyl in favor of the dual scroll 4 with 30 less hp. I think the 6 runs good as its not my racecar, but it could  benefit from a small turbo at times. Haven't been able to drive a new one yet but the HP drop is a little concerning since this still isnt a light car as say a Fusion. Also noticed for whatever reason , pricing seems to be a little cheaper than it was when I picked up my wife's back in 2018. If I'm not mistaken and I may be, I thought the titanium came with the ceramic interior in 18, but now seems to be either black or ceramic. The titanium's I seen had the same options as the SEL's sitting next to them and looks like the titanium is now just a name badge on the back. These little items threw up some flags and made me reconsider before I pulled the trigger. Anyone have any opinions on the 2.0's?

  3.  Looks like I ruffles some feathers here but whether he meant it or not, I took it as a insult. HIs first post replying to mine in the Welcome thread no less is that I am "Curmudgeonly". I take a bit more offense that when I threw it back at him, the reply I get here is I am not supposed to insult a member, but yet the member insulted me first. You guys all may know him , but I don't.  All I asked was about the personal questions, particularly  my interests and that it is a requirement to be filled in and not seen by members. The only reason I see for asking that, is for data collection for advertisers.

I'll take a swing at this one.  You're asked for the year because people are notoriously bad about identifying the year of their Edge when asking questions.  That creates delays when other members try to help and have to ask "what year/generation is your car?"  Or worse, give you a wrong answer.  I notice you didn't fill in the year of your Edge so expect to be asked at some point when you have a question (or you can go back and change it in your profile).  You have to fill in the word "Edge" because the system is automated and can't add that on its own.

As for the other 'interests' info, I suspect the sysops just try to get a feel for their memberships personalities.  Based on your post everyone now knows you're a curmugeonly type.     Offer some positive posts and creative ideas...prove me wrong.  :)

    Cheers!

Well lets just get this out of the way now!   First I don't need to prove anything to you. Your are right, I am bad tempered especially right now after just reading your reply with basically name calling. You may be one to fold over and give anyone you don't know  every piece of info about yourself but I am not.  My " interests" are of no one else's business. By the way, smart A$$  I did put in 2018 .

  5.  Just signed up but have a few questions now  I Belong and have belonged to several automotive related forums but upon joining this  particular one, why do they ask for you "interests" and then say its a requirement and not visible to other users, only  seen by staff and myself?  Is my info now being sold from this site to participate here?  Other question that seems a little goofy as this is  Ford Edge forum , why do they ask the year of your car and then ask your current car ?
