  1. Ive been coming here for quite some time now doing research. My wife would like to buy an Edge. Every time I come back and read all the problems on here. We keep putting off shopping for one scared that the quality of the edge is just not up to the Japanese standers. We hope to see fewer problems posted in the 2011 section so we might get some inspiration to go look at a ford.

  2. Here's what I found someone need to smack fords engineers over the head for a piss poor design :finger:

These chrome wheels do make all the difference in how the Edge looks, they are just a pain in every way.

I doubt that the plastic chrome makes them lighter, there is still a big ol' rim under it.

For $800.00 I would buy a new set of real chrome rims. If I do not buy a new Edge next year I am prob going to replace the plastic rims, mine are showing corrosion already. A long Chicago winter will prob make a mess of them.

  3. Here's my thoughts

I would do the math first of all. If you turn it in, you paid $307 X leased months = rental price. :shades:

You said you've had no problems with your brand new Edge that you broke in.I wouldn't go looking at other off leased vehicles that you don't know how it was drove. It could be on the lot because its lemon as well. You might be best to pay the residual value if you have to. It still could be cheaper in the long run.

  4. "..(money is not an issue)..." "Canada"

For FWD "based" SUV's the only one you should be considering is the Acura RDX.

I would also be taking a good hard look at the Hyundai Veracruz. The middle model GLS AWD Veracruz is very pricey here in Canada. It was my first choice when I was shopping this summer. The Veracruz is always referred to the same category as Acura and Lexus. Hyundai could very well be the next Toyota in the near future.

  5. Hey all. I'm looking for some 20"chrome or silver wheels to replace the God awful plastic chrome sh**

Sorry but they arn't "thinly coated in aluminum clad " they are thinly coated PLASTIC :hysterical: .

I don't do anything to ours but wash and kick them, looking for an excuse to dump them for some REAL wheels.

The cheap chrome plastic wheels was one reason why I walked out on a deal on 2009 demo, It only had 4000km (2500mi) and the wheels were all marked up. So I walked across the road and bought a 09 Honda Ridgeline instead. Too bad I never seen the advertisement on TV tell after I got home from Toronto (take the ford test drive), I would of walked back over and got my $100 from them.
