I have a 2019 Edge just about to go out of Warranty in the next 10k KM.
It seems that the 2 front USB ports don’t work when I start the car — intermittently.
When this happens, I turn off the car, open the door, lock it using FOB, wait 10 seconds, unlock, open door and restart the car and they are fine again.
This happens occasionally maybe once per week. It’s obviously not a fuse or wiring related.
I feel this actually could have started after updating my Sync a few months ago. however I’m not certain. (Don’t have build # with me right now).
Does anyone have any similar experience?
It’s not an issue that can be reproduced on command and is intermittent. So I’m not sure a dealer will be able to reproduce if I do take it in.
Could this be related to a hardware module or do you think this is related to the Sync software?
When the ports do not work it is both data and power functions. They are just dead.
