  1. +1 on my 2021 Ford Edge ST. I brought it to the dealership on June 3rd, 2022 and left it for the day there. They could not fix it as there was no fix for it. They have advised that there was 2 other Edges on their lot for sale that have the same problem. They have reached out to Ford Engineering and still waiting for answer, which is fine. I just hope when they find a solution it is the correct one. My work order is still open at the dealership.

Just noticed this on Ford's Professional Technician System bulletin board...

    May 9 2022 2021 - 2022 Edge, APIM Software Update Failures

The Ford Technical Assistance Center and Ford IT teams are aware that due to server related concerns, APIM programming is failing with an error message stating “Procedure Unsuccesful - GetConfigDataFromGIVIS Modified Configuration data is missing from Ford server". Monitor PTS for updates.

If any updates are provided, I'll pass them along.

    Good luck!

Thank you!!! I do appreciate this! I never realized how much I enjoy the front camera until it is gone

    **UPDATE**

I am currently at the dealership to get my oil change done. There is a recent recall (Ford Recall #: 22S14), apparently this is a full day job at the shop, and should correct most of the issues. I am going to book it and see if this works.

As far as where to tap in, run a wire to the closest brake light wire. Shouldn’t be difficult, pull a rear tail light assembly,  locate the brake lamp bulb, identify the + wire.

PROTECT ANY TAP THAT RUNS OUTSIDE THE CAR.

If it shorts and you loose your brake lights, YOU can be held responsible for any accidient it causes.

I was thinking of running a tap and using a fuse between the light and my taillight. I was hoping that would protect it from shorting out??

Why not something like this instead?
    https://www.amazon.com/iJDMTOY-Tow-Receiver-Brake-Hole/dp/B07VKCW64R?th=1

slides in to your hitch receiver and plugs in to the trailer light hookup, no fuss.

    Cheaper?

I ordered this first, this is not a waterproof device and the circuit board is completely exposed from behind. I also tried hooking it up the first unit I received did not work and the replacement one worked. However, when it is plugged into the trailer wiring I loose all of my sensors.

  6. I am thinking of purchasing a F1 style rear fog/brake light to mount around the rear hitch when it is not in use. The light would blink three times quickly before going a solid red. Now I am not looking to get into the legality of it, I already checked and it is legal where I live. I am more curious to know how to tap it into the lighting for my 2021 Ford Edge ST. This is the light I am looking at. Any tips would be helpful. ?

Here's the layout for a '16, it 'might' be the same for your later model.  Be sure to check using a multimeter or test light.   Note, the left side of the photo is actually the 'top' of the fuse box.image.png.955f38659c4413a6fa81bc5bac07d201.png

    thank you Gadgetjq,

I looked up the fuses and fuse 35 is the 5 A Passenger airbag deactivation indicator and fuse  26 is the  30 A Front passenger door window and mirror. Front passenger door module. Front passenger lock indicator. Front passenger switch illumination.

I have not checked if it is always hot or not, as I am waiting for my micro fuse taps to arrive.

Differences do exist between USA & Canadian 2021 Edge ST adaptive headlight Window Sticker listings, based upon these examples of vehicles currently in dealer stock.

Surprisingly, many standard features described on the USA Window Sticker are not included on the Canada Window Sticker, and the Canada 401A package includes the Cold Weather Package and Floor Liners that are not part of the USA 401A.

Looking to OASIS's Detailed Specification Report, essentially a build-sheet of vehicle features, both Edge STs are JOB 1 Program Control units and the USA & Canada headlight descriptions are identical: Headlamps - Level 5, and, Auto High Lamp Headlamp.

Looking to the Historic Vehicle Bill of Material (HVBOM) Report, which lists component part numbers installed on a VIN-designated vehicle, the bi-LED headlamp assembly is identical in the USA & Canada Edge STs.

The 2021 Edge Workshop Manual offers the same advice which I previously shared, with emphasis added...

The high series headlamps are equipped with adaptive front lighting. Depending on the inputs received (steering wheel angle and vehicle speed for example), the adaptive front lighting module can command the angle at which the headlamps are aimed (left or right) to improve nighttime visibility around curves. Adaptive front lighting is only activated when the headlamp switch is in the AUTOLAMPS position.

Based upon these records, it seems likely your Canada-market Edge ST has adaptive headlamps, though it makes no sense whatsoever that Ford would not disclose it on the Window Sticker, unless Canada regulates feature-listing.

The next time you drive at night, put the headlamp switch in the Autolamps position and look for lateral movements in the light pattern as you turn left or right.

    Good luck!

Thank you!! This was a load of great information in that post!!! I can see the headlights moving when they turn and it is pretty cool ?

  9. Hello Everyone,

New member here and I just purchased a 2021 Ford Edge ST with the 401a package in black. Doing a lot of research in the Internet and I cannot seem to find a ton of information on the 2021 ST. My main question is does the 2021 model year still include the adaptive headlamps? This is a Canadian car as I am in Canada. (I know this topic, has been beaten to death) I can not find an answer for this anywhere. My dealer says it does but they checked the build sheet and says it is standard on the 401a pkg. my window sticker makes no mention of this. Also there is no option for this in the menu on the dash or on the Sync 4a.

    Any help would be appreciated!!
