  1. Well after 2 weeks I finally have the darn wheels on. A freind of mine had the rims mill on a C&C machine and his tool shop for free But I sandblasted a quad frame for the guy that did the work. The center caps from Tasca Ford parts for $130 for all 4 the TPMS bands new for $120 and Black chrome Lugs for $40. The tire center guys were checking up and down inside and out to make sure they were not going to rub or hit anywhere. After they pull the Edge out the installer said they make the Edge. And the best part is my wife is happy. Just waiting on Wendsday for the headlights to come in2LHP-EDG07G-TM-2.jpg

  2. I am dealing with this myself. I'm trying to find a place to re size the wheel centers I will hopefully find out tomorrow if this one place can do it. He was going to see if he could do it on a bridge port to bore the size . When I was getting them install before i knew about this fun fact the guy putting the tires on he was questioning the fit of the 22's I said they have OEM 22's for the Edge and there shouldn't be any issues. So before putting the tires on the rims he dry fitted one. I didn't know that the wheel hubs was 63 mm on the rim and the 09 Edge has 70.5 mm . Can you tell me how your guy milled the centers out and how long ? The funny thing is that around my area there a tons of tool and die shops in my area but to find one to do this and not damage my wheels. I have a 2009 Limited as well but far as i know I don't have Tpms sensor on my wheels.

  3. I knew I seen these some where before but I could never find them after my searches always came up with the Ford Flex ones. . I thought I was losing it.

That's why I like your post Lex always thinking better ways to do thing!! You give me and other the incite to improve what the manufacturing company's are too cheap to do. I will wait for you to to get these and post pics on how to do it.

  4. I replaced all the interior lights with LEDs then I had some paint issues with the doors . It was in the warmer weather so I am not sure if the remoter starter worked since I changed them. I took it in to the dealer because when I would try the remote to start the Edge It will go threw the safety check then it should start, But mine would beep 3 times which means that a door is open. All the doors are close tight. So the Dealer said it was of the LEDs that the dome light bleeds alittle light that the system is reading that as an open door. Do any of you that put LEDs in your interior have that same issue? I the tech disconnected a wire the allows the Edge to start. I told the tech to leave the wire disconnected. early on in the summer when I received my LEDs I noticed the dome light kind of glowed. I asked the ebay seller and what he said was that LEDs require less power and the standard lights alwasy have that little power going threw but need more power to light up.

Any info on this ? when I get my Edge back to today I will take pictures Thanks

  5. Hi, my name is Norm. I live in Montréal. I'm French Canadian, so please be kind enough to forgive my poor knowledge of the English language. I own a 2008 all black Edge Limited. I have it since October 2007. I've been a member of this site and a regular reader of most of your post since then but never posted myself.

I've always been modifying my cars, but have to admit that you guys are really ingenious with it. So I adopted some of your ideas and trough in a few of mine.

Interior lighting has always been my main concern with the Edge. Like most of you, I’m trying to add what should have been found as standard equipment. I have to admit, I personally find green interior lighting to be the best color of all. Especially with an all black interior. I know some of you prefer Blue. I guess it is just personal taste.

The most satisfying mod I did, is getting the BARM controls to be seen at night. Thanks to Lex, great description, great research, big help.

I have a 2009 the switch is a little different I was thinking about hooking up power to the switch but I was not sure if the leds were in the newer ones and how much that would distract you at night ?

Great job on your mod , How long did it take you ?

  6. Put the leds Front Map Lamps: 2825 (W5W ford) had a few extra and found out that they fit in my License Plate ...Now that I did all the nice color leds my wife wants me to change the puddle lights. But I wanted to buy some new replacements just in case I mess up . I called a local ford dealer and they said $300 for the whole mirror and I could not get they separate.. !! :finger:

  7. Well I got the LEDs I could of used 39 mm LED Festoon Bulbs in all the back 3 in the map and dome light and one in the cargo .. I went off the spec in the manual. But I ordered 36mm LED Festoon Bulbs. I also have the wedge ones I installed and took back out. They look great but at night you can see a Tiny small light emitting from the center led. Not sure if that is normal for those bulbs

I am thinking of seeing if I can of getting 39mm 239 C5W Xenon White 8 LED Festoon Bulb 12V cause the ones I have only have 6 LEds a2e3_1_sbol.JPG

The crazy thing is I put the stock ones in but pull one out and put in stock one back in it shut the low emitting light off ?
