  1. Someone was looking for some pics.

This is my 08 Edge Dark Ink/Camel. I could not stand those rear taillights! Thank GOD for NITE Shades. now available at summitracing.com

Like I stated previously. I bought the black catch-alls. (purchased from autoanything.com)

The rear cargo area is my Walmart special. A 5x7 black area rug $19.99. I have a piece also cut out to fit on top of the seats when folded.

The rear one-piece moves a little when the kids get in and out but at least it covers a substantial area especially the hump. I'm thinking of spraying a rubberizing coating to help it grip better.

I plan on changing the entire rug to black if i can find it for a reasonable price. I still have a piece of the area rug saved for the dead pedal area.

I purchased an over sized clear plastic chair mat from Wally word and cut it to form in the trunk area. I use bungee cords to hold things down as its surface is a bit slick, but it can take a beating! I am still undecided on front and 2nd row floor mats. I need something semi rugged as my Edge sees good amount of country driving any suggestions?

  2. My opinion is that if I want FWD then I can get a car. AWD/4WD is for SUV/Crossovers. Otherwise why put up with the mileage, size and added cost for maintenance? I would't even consider FWD crossover or suv due to the heavy & often unpredictable snowfalls of late

I wanted AWD, but opted for FWD on my '09 for two reasons. 1. AWD = lower gas mileage & 2. In Houston we really do not see any snow. The traction of AWD cannot be denied, but I have not had any control/traction problems to date with my Edge. Funny fact my dealer couldn't even locate an AWD within the Houston city limits. The closest AWD Edge was in Dallas!

  3. Here are the facts:

    09 Ford Edge w/ Sight & Sound package - approx 900 miles

I get in my Edge, I start it up, I turn on the radio, and nothing comes from the woofer at all, no low end anywhere. BUT if I immediately turn my Edge OFF and turn it right back on the sub works! I have taken it to the dealer and all the service guy will say is,"this is a known issue, but our freelance audio tech won't be here until next week, and once he looks at your Edge he has to order a part from Ford which takes 5 - 10 business days." Neither the service tech or his manager know what is wrong, anyone out there with any ideas?

  4. Proud owner of a 2009 SEL Edge; Charcoal interior; Sight & Sound package; SHINY 18" Chrome Wheels ;) I love this thing!

I traded in my very well loved 2001 4X2 F150 for more of a "family" vehicle and my wife and I are very happy with the Edge! We don't move very fast in making decisions on major purchases like these, but after a month of research and test driving it was clear which direction we were leaning. SYNC pretty much sealed the deal for us and here we are.

I have promised, initially, to not Mod the Edge for a little while, but every time I get in the vehicle I get the itch, there is so much opportunity here! For the most part I am not planning on modding the engine as we did not buy this vehicle to take the hole shot, but everything is on the table.

As we actually read the manuals and continue to become more familiar with the Edge and its capabilities we are becoming more and more impressed.
