  1. Well, I just got off the phone with the Fresno Lithia Ford dealership and the topic; Ford Edge P.T.U. This conversation was about what fluid to use. Let’s make a long story short. I was Informed that an update by Ford, they now use Mercon LV trans fluid in place of the 75/140 synthetic gear oil for the P.t.U. Should there be some things to consider here? I’m sure there is a difference in viscosity and fluid weight. Riddle me this, changing your synthetic fluid out for a non-synthetic fluid on a part that is under constant heat from friction, engine block and manifold, is that really much of an improvement or is the Ford manufacturer just wanting to ensure complete part failure?
