My Partner is in the process of purchasing a late UK Ford Edge. Her one preference is a glass roof no matter what make or model. We had a test drive, we came to an agreement for issues to be addressed before fully commiting to the purchase. The Panroof slide was shut, the last thing on the list was to see how much of an affect the panroof had on the interior cabin light. Low and behold the the cover was opened to expose a cracked glass, the saleman's face was a picture, even more so when I told him the price of a new one fitted. We are still going ahead with the sale once all the defects have been sorted, including the roof. I think there may be some further negotiating once the sales rep reports back to the owner of the car lot. My partner works at the Hyundai import centre, they have a number of cracked glass roofs come through, these are dealt with by an independent body shop, they also do a number of other manufacturers roofs including Ford. It may be a case of striking a deal for us to have the work done, They took a video of the car a few weeks back, the slide is open, i wonder if anyone noticed the crack? The tint hides it quite well unless you really look at it.
