  1. Hi, I have a UK model 2.0 210PS Sport diesel with 6 speed PowerShift auto gearbox. I filled up at a service station last week and the car would not start, I had to have the car recovered to a local Ford workshop. Everything in the car appears to work except it doesn’t seem to recognise the brake is pressed and it won’t start. First thing the workshop tech did was check the battery and starter motor with direct connection, it turns over so both OK. Next he checked all wiring around the brake pedal and starter switch, again OK. It’s been with the workshop a week now and no further forward. Nobody in the UK Edge community on FB has seen this happen, though I saw something similar in the UK Edge owners forum from back in 2017, but the guy left in 2023. Anyone seen this happen and how was it caused? I’m thinking either software glitch as it seems to be locked in a loop when trying to start, or maybe the immobiliser has activated somehow. I’m desperate to get a working car back and our local Ford workshop is short on ideas
  2. Hi fellow Edgers, Not many of us in UK, with not much over 2000 Edges registered on the road here. I have a 2017 model 2.0 Edge Sport with twin turbo Duratorq diesel engine and 6 speed PowerShift gearbox, first registered on the road in May 2018. I bought the car in Nov 2023 with just over 20,000 miles on her. It was first registered down in Cornwall and was most likely a holiday home car, averaging around 5,000 miles a year as confirmed by servicing receipts and our UK road worthiness test required after 3 years old. I use the car mainly for towing our large twin axle caravan, and for long motorway journeys to visit family.
