  1. I've had my Edge since May 2nd and the chrome pieces and body side molding since mid April, but I haven't had the opportunity to install them. Fear, I believe, is also a factor.....I would really hate to screw this up!!

Ultra96....I would love to see pictures!

    Sue,

I have posted some pics of my Edge in the members gallery...check them out they show the rear of the vehicle with the pieces installed. I have to say that quite a few people have asked me about the add ons since I have had them installed. I think they just add the right amount to the what I thought was a "dull" rear door.

  2. WAS SEARCHING THE WEB FOR FORD EDGE "STUFF" AND FOUND THIS WEBSITE. I AM PLACING AN ORDER NEXT FRIDAY... WWW.BRIGHTTRIM.COM

I also ordered some items for my EDGE, I bought the trim that goes on the liftgate around the Ford emblem as well as the liftgate door edge piece. Both pieces add alot to the look of the liftgate. Prior to adding these items the liftgate looked very bland, my EDGE is a Carbon Mettalic paint.

The only thing I would caution you about is to be very careful when installing the items as you really only have one shot at getting it right. I also would suggest that you pull the tape off from the center out as it seems to make it easier to adjust as you put the pieces on the vehicle.

  3. I have a set of Nifty's Catch-All floor mats in my F150 Super Crew truck. I really like them. I forget the model exactly, but they are a carpeted look to them. But they have a harder mat material underneath. They have the lip on the outer edge to contain liquids. My son spilled a full 20oz pop on the rear mat. It contained it all if it. I just slid the mat out and dumped it on the ground. Hosed it off when we got home. So anyway, I'm really happy with these mats.

So I emailed Lund (owners of Nifty) to see if they'll be making these mats for the Edge. I got a response I'll copy below. But I'm hoping they make these mats plus maybe a mat for the back end too. Sounds like they will. So I'm holding off getting the Ford "weather" mats and wait for these.

So if you're interested too, email them. Maybe we'll generate enough requests they'll follow up quickly on production.

Wow, I hope they make them as well...but I have to say that when I e-mailed them about one month ago my reply was much different than the one you got. Hope that your reply pans out as they do make a get mat. I have them in my 2000 Explorer and when I took them out the factory carpet underneath looked almost brand new...

  4. We are seriously looking at a Ford Edge, but have found two vehicles in Saskatchewan with 03/07 manufacterers date with faulty roofs. The roof seems to power out and stall in open position. We checked others on the lot and they were fine. Is there a recall on this roof? We are wondering if it is a stoke of bad luck or good fotune.

I haven't had any problems with mine at all. It does seem to open slower than most sunroofs that I have seen in the past.

  5. I will be picking up my new Edge SEL+ on Saturday morning. Thanks for everyones help!!!!

Izz...I have had my Edge SEL AWD since March and I am getting between 22 - 23 MPG on the highway, I drive over 100 miles per day to and from work so most of the driving is on the highway. I really dont know what it would get if it was city driving. I already have over 6,000 miles on the vehicle and I am still very happy with my choice.

It is much better than the 2000 Explorer that I had before the Edge. On the Explorer the best I could get on the highway was around 15 MPG, so I am very pleased with the better gas milage as well as the better ride.

  6. Go to www.mats.com . They have many accessories for the Edge and MKX. The custom fit cargo mat is available in black, tan and gray. These are excellent products. I have had them in a number of vehicles and they all have been great. They also have colors besides black in all weather floor mats, so you do not have to go with the Ford black only ones if you don't want to.

I got a nice cargo liner from Husky liners and it fits really well..also multiple colors are available

  7.

I saw all the stuff listed above and can add another useful item....a dash cover. I had one on my last vehicle, due to a slight reflection problem and found that it did wonders for the appearance and helped deaden interior noises as well. I highly recommend going with medium to dark colors to limit reflections. I have the stone interior which does generate a little glare on the dash. Due to the large defrost grille on the dash of the edge (location of most of the glare in my vehicle) I will have to see if that "cut-out" has any benefit on glare reduction. If nothing else it will quiet an already quiet interior. I was surprised to find this available so soon but, was thrilled to find it. I ordered the Dash mat from JC Whitney.com for $41 (Incl. Shipping +tax). The product is available through other vendors however, most did not have the 2007 vehicles updated. Was not sure which color would be best with the stone interior, as it is not easy to match fortunately, there are several colors available other than beige, black and Grey! I should receive next week and can supply a report on fit and finish if there is any interest?

Keep the links coming on accessories !!!!as I would like to add some contoured winter mats, etc. So far, have seen only a few including Ford accessories and Husky which looked OK but only available in black(?). I did read a post early on December(?) about one of the better custom mats that should be available the middle of the year?

I also will post my driving impressions after a week behind the wheel (and after my 1st fill-up ) to see where my mileage figures are at? This seems to be one of the few areas where owners are not entirely thrilled. I am looking forward to these #'s as well, and don't trust the estimator on the dash yet.

In advance of my review, I will say that this vehicle has dramatically changed my perspective on my commute to work!

Did anyone else notice that the recommended oil change interval for normal driving conditions is 7,500 Miles !!!!!!!

    Stay tunned!!!

Red fire SEL+ with stone interior with BAMR and 17" wheels

Just got a set of nice heavy duty floor mats from Weathertech...the are made to fit really well....also I am averaging about 22 - 23 MPG as I do alot of highway driving...

    Carbon Mettalic with stone interior

  8. Some of this stuff looks a little tacky but the stainless sill trim is pretty cool. I'm going to order it and post apic when I get it...

    http://www.brighttrim.com/shopping.asp?id=...op=itemlist.asp

I have some of these items on my Edge. I have a Carbon Metallic paint version and wanted to dress up the rear liftgate. So I got the trim for around the Ford logo and the lower door edge. They are really nice, adds just the right touch.

Have to say that you definately need to take your time when installing the items...also another company to look at is Quality Automotive Accessories at qaausa.com
