We are loving our still, two months and 5000 km later.

For the record, I think we all know why the head rests are built this way. And obviusly not every person is built the same. Some find this uncomfortable, and some don't. For us that find it uncomfortable, we don't need to be told why they are built this way. Just FTR.....

The guy didn't finish his sentence about the nav being standard.

To remove the headrests, simply straighten the outermost end of a paperclip, raise the headrest to its uppermost position, insert the paperclip into the small hole on the plastic headrest guide, and press firmly while pulling upwards on the headrest.
i have on 07 Edge SEL Plus and I too am annoyed with the extreme angle of the headrest. It seems to annoy us taller drivers (over 5-10). I tried the above to release the front headrest and nothing happens when i push firmly. HELP
I didn't use a paper clip or anything. I just pushed in the lock on both plastic mounts and pulled it out. Fliped them and push back in.
I flip the head rest back when I get out, just so the wife is protected.

maybe your husband is trying to save some $$$ trying to think of reasons not to go with the BAMR

Am I correct in asuming this is your fist vehicle with AC ? Every vehicle I have owned since 91 ( when I got my license) has left water on the ground from the AC.
It feeds the birds etc... :-)

We (wife) came from a first year VW Touareg, thing was nothing but problems. Our last repair invoice was over $2300.00 :-( . The current models are much better I have read.
I was leary about purchasing another first year vehicle, but it is a derivitive of a proven Mazda platform which made me feel better. The VW was a brand new ground up vehicle with more computers than NASA is swear !
We love our Edge :-)

I tinted the two side windows and was asked if I wanted the windshild tint lowered (added). Because it is a lease, and the wife doesn't care, I didn't .

Thanx Dilgen, if the wife ever lets me drive it again, I'll try that.

Canada jeff, member NYEdge gave me info on the headrests below. These are in my edge......they are new headrest with dvd players that NYEdge and i got off ebay from a company called "lettuce Trade". They are a hong kong company....i was skeptical when NYEdge gave me this info, but i bought them off ebay from lettuce trade ($417.00) had them UPS'd to me in 3 days....and they have been great. They come in 3 differant leather colors and match the leather texture in the edge perfectly...ck out the photos and ck NYedge's post back in mar/apr. 2 wires to hook up (ground-hotwire) and they do fit into the edge headrest post. I wired mine into my electric seats.
Where is the link? I can't see any pics.... :stats:  help

Never heard of it - but I'm new to Michigan. I am from South and Central Florida. My wife is from Ontario and knows about it though.
If your not boaters, more likely you wouldn't here about the Islands in Florida.

Great photos of the Edge (nice setting). What / where are the "Thousand Islands" in Canada? I go to Canada often and I have never heard of them.
Your in Michigan and you never heard of the Thousand Islands!!!! Your kidding me?????
Beautifuly peacefull and relaxing. Unless you like to go fast on the water! Alot of off shore power boats and other boat types too.
Here is a picture from the river. Our boat house with my parents house above up the rock.

I wanted the tow package for everything it added. We'll never tow a thing with it, I dirve a Tundra. But I liked the addition heat protection items etc...
-
Well I guess just flipping the head rest around when I drive it would be the best answer. That way the wife still has the proper protection when she drives it, and I am comfy when I drive it.

hummm, not even one reply? This site must be real small, or inactive......surprized.....

the Edge didn't even spin a tire!! I couldn't believe it! Was very impressed. Just have to bend the head rest back and I'm all good.

Kinda....Father has retired to the Thousand Islands, and has bough a beautiful house that just happens to have a boat house! Wife and I use it like a cottage and visit it many weekends in the summer.
We have a gravel road down around Fathers house he built. The VW ran up and down the past three years, so I tried the Edge this weekend.
Wife was a bit pissed because we just got it Thursday, but I reminded her who signed all the papers :shades:
See pictures.

I know I'm not the only one who doesn't like the head rest. My question is can I do anything?
Problem is Ifind it is pressing against the bacl of my head constantly. Not nice. I tried raising, and lowering. I even took the phucking thing off, but then worried about a crash etc.....
I didn't notice in the test drives, we took our first long trip this weekend.
Does the Licoln head rest differ? Maybe I can buy one or two of those and switch it.
Or I'm gonna put the thing a vice here at my shop and bend it back an inch or so.
**MAJOR FLAW** Digital ODOMETER is not measuring accurately!!!!
