2010 Edgar SEL AWD

Sounds to me like an interference problem?

there's nothing else in the car.. if anyone else has the iphone could they chime in? thanks.

Not sure what's going on. I open up the iPod function on the iPhone, start my playlist using the iPhone and it plays through the car and then constantly cuts out. Any ideas?

I have a 2010 SE FWD and saw an unlit "External Temp" readout on the digital trip meter but don't have the slightest idea how to make it work. Definitely not in the owner's manual.

apparently, even the entry level Edge (SE FWD) comes with this function.

That must be the media in which I had seen it as STANDARD equipment on the SEL AWD.. Hmm.. Not happy about that now.

Nope, no Ford that I know of has ever used the radio display for any temperature readings (not including navigation systems). The manual climate system doesn't have an external temperature sensor, so you won't have an external temperature reading.

That's what I've figured. I'm not upset there isn't one as if it meant that much to me I would have known about it. Though, I do think that with all the safety issues, you'd think the addition of a very inexpensive external temperature sensor would be a high priority on the list. Telling the driver there is likely ice on the road is certainly safer than letting the driver rely on the vehicle's other safety features; as warning a driver might make the driver slow down BEFORE the need for traction control, AWD, Air bags, Crumple zones, etc, etc, etc.. Just my .02

Just push the "EXT" button on the center consol under the display.

Hmm - It seems I don't have an EXT button.. I have the manual climate control - not the dual zone one. I could have sworn though that in some media I saw that the ext temp was displayed in the bottom right hand corner of the radio display.

I just picked up a 2010 Edge SEL AWD with the 6-disc/MP3 Sirius radio. I thought the external temperature was displayed on the bottom right of the radio display but there is nothing about this in the manual nor do I see anything in the car. Does it not have one? Thanks.

Introducing myself here - I just purchased a 2010 Ford Edge SEL AWD with some add-ons like SYNC and something else. I can't remember. lol

 

I pick the 'thing' up on Monday. It's White with black interior and some chrome stuff.

 

It seems like an awesome vehicle by all reviews and my impressions. I was initially looking at purchasing my fourth new Subaru but the Outback has changed dramatically since the '98 I bought new and, the Forester is not looking good these days either. It's slow unless you get the turbo and then only available in auto-form? That in itself was enough to make me say, If I can't buy a peppy Subaru that fits my needs in manual-form, then I'll buy another auto and shop elsewhere. So here I am

 

And no. That's not a typo - "it's" name is Edgar, hence the username.. The wife named it while we logged mile 4.1 on the ODO during the test drive.

 

And if it matters, I also own Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, a Kia Amanti and a BMW M Roadster.. The Amanti AKA: Grandma, is leaving us soon..
