Hello. I have a set of unused MGP Caliper Covers which I had painted with the platinum white color (Code UG). I purchased these for my 2011 Edge Sport, but never took the opportunity to install them. Brand new, total spend for the set was $320, because of the platinum white paint job that I had applied. Interested in offers, please respond to this post or send me an email - oocufferoo@Hotmail.com. I did install these on my Edge, but wasn't a big fan of how they looked. Personal preference.

My preference is to ship these within the United States - I'm not sure how the process works for shipping international.

MGP Caliper Covers - I used them for 20 minutes, got home and removed them. Purchased for a 2011, you can look at their site to see what other years they will fit.

I didn't like the way they looked with the 22 inch wheels and the way they fit, I honestly don't think they were intended for the Sport version. I had them custom painted to the Platinum White color. They've been sitting in my closet for 2 years, these bad-boys need to go. I paid $320. They will fit the standard Edge - if you have a Sport, I wouldn't recommend them. $200 o.b.o.

This is one of the reasons, why I'm excited for my Sport to show up... i sure hope the function works!! I'll let you know how I progress on this, as I get a chance to play around next week (Hopefully, for Gods Sake! Taking long enough! :D ). From my understanding, the hotspot will only activate while in park correct? You're capable of 'connecting' to the Edge, but the wifi is 'aquiring address', or something of this nature on your laptop? Is this whats going on?

Tough call there...........OR you could change your order and get a Sport then you wont have that problem.

Before I got my Sport I asked the how much to get the limited headlamps installed. They said all of $2000. I was like OK i'll pass. But once I drove it at night I was surprised to see they were not bad. My last car had HID too.

 

Still this was a dumb thing Ford did by not having HID standard on the Sport.

 

 

 

I have AWD and it has good power for passing. Even on the Hyw 65 to 80 is just fine. This is coming from a guy that has always had fast cars.

 

I got AWD cause when I drove the FWD the front tires would always break loose (on dry pavement and worse on wet).

I'm not sure if knowing the dealership owners help or not, but I got the fully loaded Sport - White, with all options, including the T V's in the headrests!! (impulse buy). 35.2K - 38.5K after taxes.. It was thousands+ less than any other dealer I looked at. Family friends, gotta love them!

Hey everyone, I want to have my rims powder coated to finish off my look, has anyone done this? Whats the cost, time it takes, etc..

I've been looking into this as well and I don't see a lot folks doing it. It sounds like a lot of people are just sandblasting and painting, but I don't know how long this will keep up in the long run ~ 5 years down the road. I think these 22's on the Sport Edge, with a splash of this and that would really look good. All black, or All white... phewwwwww fancy.

From the Buzzman: Well, Akirby does not have any written proof that teh G-Force does not work.

I will buy it and dyno the car before and after and track the mileage before and after.

 

If it works, then great! If it does not, ...I get my money back.

 

The G-force.com module controls the AST sensor that regulates your fuel air mixture, just as a Tuner would, but without changing your internal CPU programming.

 

It does not hurt your Ford Warranty.

 

It keeps your fuel air mixture at the perfect settings, even when it is Hot out, or you are stopping and then gunning it on a turn from a stop sign, etc.

 

You don't get the Bogged down hesitation and your fuel economy goes up to peak performance at all times.

 

Ford and other manufactures, have to set their tuning at a mediocure level of keeping your emmissions and stuff well within regulations, plus to limiy the extra power and concerns for all edges making thru the warrantee term, which hurts your HP and your mileage by 3-4 MPG.

 

Also, when you add a full tank of 93 octane fuel, you instantly get a retuned and sensor controlled 35-45 HP increase! The module retunes as needed!

 

So,....you want a higher mileage car, with similar but improved performance, just run regular fuel 87 octane.

 

You want a suped up version for awhile, just add Premium fuel!

 

I like the concept, and there is no down side to always trying to tune or retune your car, and,...you never have tuning issues or problems!

Akirby just mouths off all over this forum about it not working, and to forget it. Well, he does not have any proof of that. The company has been doing this for years with a money back guarantee, if you do not notice a good noticable improvement. they just set up the 2011 modules and are ready for purchase for the Ford Edge 2011.

 

I for one, try things and experiment to see if they really do what they claim. So far, this seems to be the simplest way to get some extra OOOOOOMMFFFF!

This pea brain doesn't know a whole lot about the new cars - do they really recognize the difference in Octane levels now, and self adjust when populating with '93 octane? Woah! Why would anyone even consider '87 Octane in this case? The meager delta in the cost per gallon? Pfffffffttt.....

I don't see the tinted overlays on patriotdecals either, does anyone know where to find them? (other than eBay please)

 

I have a tuxedo black metallic Edge, so I'm thinking the front emblem, since it sits on the chrome grille, would look best in black / chrome and then the back emblem, on the black paint, would look best with a black tint.

 

The Ford ones can't be made anymore but I really don't want the tacky (IMO) worded kind or a solid black hole. So I did some research and found a place that sells black / chrome Ford emblems (not decals) :D

 

They don't list them for the Edge, but I read somewhere that they're the same size as the F150 emblems, which they do have.

Can anyone confirm this? Depending on the size, their prices are $30 - $70 each.

 

If interested just PM me for their site, I don't want them getting shut down before I have a chance to order!

 

EDIT: I just noticed some discrepancy between their product image vs. the product description, so I've contacted them for clarification. Will confirm if they are infact the black emblems!

Aaaahh! Looks awesome! I can't wait for my Tri-coat white Sport...3 more weeks.

Just put my order in today - they say 6 to 8 weeks; I would assume there must be some padding in that estimate? What would be a best case lead time: from order - to - driveway?... I'm feeling lucky!! :D

If some of you don't mind sharing.. what kind of pricing are you folks paying for the fully loaded 2011 Sports - ALL OPTIONS? I think I recieved a spectacular deal, but I'd like to get some check and balances here.. You can PM me, if you're more comfortable with that.

You said you haven't seen anyone on here talk about a "chip". I was just clarifying that the reason for that is that they do not exist - just in case some people were still wondering.

I know there's another post about towing with the edge but it does not explain much... I was just wondering how does the edge handle with a tow hitch? does it put alot of stress to the motor? how about the 22in rims do they feel right when u tow? Also i know on the other post the guy said something about they would have to modify the bumper? and loud noise? Anyone has a tow hitch on there 2010 sport that can comment...please do...

Great question, I've been wondering the same... They didn'toffer the towing option on the Sport '10, correct? Has this changed with the 2011 - can you get a hitch?
