  1. Does anyone have a list of compatible phones? The link Ford provides on their accessory site doesn’t have come up with any hits when you search for mobile-ease. Also can anyone conform that the mobile-ease works with the ’07 Edge with DVD navigation? The local electronics installation shop couldn’t find a compatible harness for my stereo, because it had the sub-woofer, for the Parrot 3000 Evolution.

Im pretty sure Ford sells a compatible harness for the mobile ease. Check Fordaccesoriestore.com. I installed the Parrot CK3100 in my '07 with Nav. The harness I used I found at Crutchfield.com. It was easy to install and works well. Crutchfield also says it's not compatible only due to the sub woofer in which case they are correct. Only thing is, when I make or recieve a call, all speakers are muted except the sub. Something I can live with because it really doesnt interfere with the call.

Here is the link for the Harness I used.

  2. I love the WOW!! factor of the car. A lot of people seem surprised that its a Ford.

    The looks and stare's

The comfort. It's by far the best vehicle I have ever owned comfort wise.

I sometimes drive my wifes 08 Fusion, and I feel cramed.

I have Black 07 with black leather interior, it's really nice and makes it that more comfortable.

The gidgets and gadgets inside from memory seats to nav, auto climate, sirius.......

One things that "bugs" me, the big and bold front end catches a lot of insects.

overall, I couldn't be happier with my EDGE.

    Happy Trails :happy feet:

  3. Bought my 07 6/07. Sticker said 3 month free. It's been on ever since. I haven't seen a renewal letter or anything from sirius. I'll just keep listening till it goes out or get a letter. When I bought the car I thought I would just let the free service run out and not renew, but now I don't think I will stop the service, It's better than I thought. Anywho, ........

  4. just your typical first post. Hello All, you have a pretty nice forum here, i hope to learn some new stuff.

purchased a New 07 Edge SEL-plus AWD 3-1-08. i know it was a year old but i think i gotta a decent price for it. tell me if i did, if i didn't please don't tell me.

I had a 02 Tahoe LT nearly fully loaded (no nav/tv's, bose) w/ 109000miles 4x4 that needed traded in. (technically paid for, but only on paper) the most i was offered anywhere was $8000. so i hit a different dealer in a different state to see what they have. i see Black Edge, decided quickly that's the one. loaded EXactly like i would have ordered one.

stickered $33270 prem. pkg, trailertow, audiophile, ???some other stuff...

showed the trade @ $11,6xx (remember the most i'd been offered anywhere else was $8K

    plus additional $1000 rebate

ended up financing @ 3.9% $20,800 after trade-in (in my eyes i gave approx.$28,800 had i not traded)

figured i still got $8K trade w/ lots of rebates (back to dealer)

I felt i could have gotten at least $1K more off but i was in a HUGE hurry to surprise the wife while it was still light out (made it only by minutes) She was HAPPY, but not w/ black (hard to keep clean)

Nice to meet everyone here for those of you who actually read all this:)

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new EDGE. I agree with the others, as long as your happy with your purchase then you got a great deal. I too have a black SEL plus and it is difficult to keep clean, i mean in a matter of minutes you can see a dust layer settling. I love my car, it simply the best vehicle i have ever owned. I recently purchased a 08 Fusion for my wife, metallic fire red, with sync, ambient lighting, sport and moon package, its a really nice car but I rather not drive it, IMO, it doesnt even come close to my EDGE.

    Enjoy you new EDGE

  5. I think it powers the auto-dimming function on the mirror to prevent glare from headlights from behind. I believe the 07's had this feature as well.

The base of the rear view mirror also houses the compass. I know this because i accidentally unplugged it once while cleaning and didn't know it. When I started my EDGE the compass wouldn't read. The message center said "compass not avail" Took me a day to figure it out. :happy feet:

  6. I installed the Parrot CK3100 in my 07 SEL. Took less than an hour start to finish even for a novice like me. The install was fairly simple, plug and play to be exact. I got the 3100 as a gift but I was looking into one on Crutchfield.com for about $179. My wife said she found it somewhere else for $129. I did order the bluetooth wiring harness from Crutchfield, $39.99. With the harness, there were a total of 8 simple connections i made and i was up and running. Works well with my BlackBerry Pearl and the clarity is really good, also has voice commands which is nice. No buttons to push, just simply say "phone" and it mutes the car speakers and waits for your command to call someone in your phonebook.

It's a nice addition to my EDGE since SYNC is not able to be backfitted into 07's.

The only thing is at Cruthfield when you "outfit your car" it says the wiring harness does not work with the factory stereo's with the subwoofer. This is correct only in that when you get a call it doesn't mute the sub. doesn't really affect the clarity of my calls unless im really rock'n out. The parrot comes with 3 mute cables, I used one which matched up to the wiring harness. The other two, Im thinking if I can identify the sub woofer wire I can tap into it with one of the two remaining mute cables.

    The question is:

Does the sub woofer speaker wire come out of the back of the unit, if so what color should i look for, or how can I identify it.

Thanks for any feed back. :reading:

  7. Yes, I recently noticed this also. The vent on the drivers side just left of the stereo blow weaker then the passanger side. Glad to see im not the only one, I was thinking of asking the dealer to check this out, maybe a hole in one of the ducts or maybe it is what it is. Nevertheless, the EDGE is awsome.

  8. I am the sole driver of our EDGE, we first went to purchase a car for her and she choose an '07 Mustang. Then when we went searching for a car for me and I choose the EDGE. She wanted to trade cars but my excuse was that the Mustang is a little small inside for my 6'2" 255lbs frame and my back spasms...lol. We do trade every so often which I don't mind, we are talking about trading in her Mustang already, maybe his N her EDGES? hmmmm

  9. I also had a dakota r/t 5.9L before I bought my EDGE. as you can guess the power difference is most noticable but now when i drive i don't feel like my

foot is on the trigger but if need the get up, the EDGE provides plenty. The ride is quiet so i did miss the roar of the 5.9 but like you said, it's time to

move on. I couldn't be happeir with my EDGE. I have the nav, sirius, dvd, and all that stuff and looking to add a bluetooth device, as for the stereo, im not into all that extra stuff anymore so im no help there.

good luck in your search and hope you enjoy your EDGE if you decide to go that way.

  10. Since the laws here in CA are changing which will require you to have some type of handsfree devce to talk on your phone while driving, I've been looking at several bluetooth devices to add. For me the Sync is nice but if it can be retrofitted into the '07's, at what cost. Yes it offers a whole mess of features, one being bluetooth, but I'm happy with what I have now and dont need to tell my car to "change the station"...lol. The mobile-ease adds too much to the dash for me from what i seen in the pics, i'm looking for something that can be mounted around the center stack and will be for the most part out of sight and next to my hand as i usually rest my arm on the center stack. Right now im deciding between the Motorola IHF1000 and the Parrot CK3000. I do like the look of the IHF1000 better but my audio guy told be the parrot is better in quality. Also the IHF1000 use a external speaker where as the CK3000 use's the cars speakers. Thats the only major difference in features. Im not a fan of those ear things, so thats out.

Has anyone else installed anything besides the Mobile-ease from Ford?

    If so what?

    How is the Quality?

    Where did ya get it?

How much was unit and install?

Take a look at the two and let me know what ya think.
