  1. I had the same elusive problem but while the car was still under warranty. It took 4 trips to the dealer before they caught the issue (same as yours). I originally was thinking transmission but it proved to be one of the cyclinder coils. Oh, one other thing. The problem was accurately predicted by another forum participant who also experienced the same issue. Eventually, the problem will become more predictable and repeatable.

Thanks...you were right...the problem was a faulty coil over plug. My dealer says that it was cuased by a worn plug that was causing the coil to work harder to spark over the large gap. He recommended changing all plugs. Coil was $ 90 Cdn and plug $ 6 Cdn... Vehicle running normal again...

  2. I am hoping that it has registered as a fault code when I take it in. Unfortunately my Edge has 71 500 K on it and I think that this is beyond warranty ?? I will ask my dealer about the coil / plug possibility - but will also examine the computer program update option as well... Guess I will let them look at it first. Please let me know how you make out with your tranny problem...thanks

  3. I wish that I had read further on through this topic before I just posted the exact same issue with my 2007 Edge - rolls smoothly on flat terrain but starts "bucking" when I enter an incline ! I will suggest some of these ideas to my local dealer when I take it in. Thanks...

  4. My 2007 Edge has a transmission issue - it cruises fine on a flat stretch of road with the cruise control engaged but starts to "buck" noticeably as soon as a slight incline is encountered in the road. It has also been doing this when I accelerate slowly without using cruise control as well . I had the fluid flushed recently and it is still doing it. Any thoughts ??

  5. I want to change the transmission fluid on my 07 Edge. I found 2 small plugs on the casing that I am thinking must be drain plugs. They are positioned at 2 different levels on the tranny case. Does anyone know if these are drain plugs for the tranny fluid?? I want to drain and refill with new fluid. Will drive for a week and repeat. Any thoughts ??
