  1. Thanks to all for the how to on replacing the cabin filter. It was a piece of cake and I'm not really mechanically inclined. Took less than 10 minutes. I have the screen and it was really dirty. Cleaned it and It seems like I'm getting more air through the vents.Thanks.

  2. I drive a 01 escape, but i"m looking into the edge sel or limited.after reading all the problems this car is having,I wanna know, does anyone really love their edge?

I purchased my 08 SEL 2 months ago. Had I read a lot of the posts in this forum first, I may not have purchased it which would be a shame because I really do love it. Yes, the AC could pump out more air through the vents but is any car really perfect? Have not had any of the other problems mentioned in this forum.

  3. Probably not what you want to hear but, the dealer has to catch it in the act unless Ford has some history. I have a 2008 that had an engine stutter for months that wouldn't repeat with the dealer. Each time I brought it in for routine service, I mentioned the problem still existed. Finally got lucky and their diagnostic toy captured the problem. Fixed it and I've never had another issue. Stay with it and keep reminding the dealer. Good luck.

What did the dealer say the problem was?

  4. My Lincoln MKX with AWD has 18 inch rims. Can I put 17 inch rims from a Ford Edge on the vehicle, assuming I use the correct profile tire so that the outside circumference remains the same?

The reason I ask is that the rims have to clear the calipers, and it has been stated in various forums that the brakes on AWD Lincolns and Edges are bigger than the FWD's and that is why all of the AWD's have18's

I have a 2008 Edge with AWD and the wheels are 17".

  5. Yes I got 2 long and 2 short pieces. The long ones fit the front as they should. The rear shorter ones are 2 inches too long and would extend into the curve of the rear wheel well.

Thanks everyone for your help. I called Sport Wing and indeed I have the wrong size on both the front and the rear. Customer service was great and they are shipping the correct size--I hope.

  6. based on the pictures on sport wing's website, are you sure you are putting the correct one on the rear door? did you get 2 long and 2 short pieces?

Yes I got 2 long and 2 short pieces. The long ones fit the front as they should. The rear shorter ones are 2 inches too long and would extend into the curve of the rear wheel well.

  7. I have them installed on my 2010 Edge Limited. You should have 2 long and 2 short pieces. The longer one goes on the front door, the shorter rear. Just measured mine and the long one is 39" and the shorter is 26.5". I'd say you have the wrong size because if the shorter one was any longer it would hit the curve of the rear wheel well and would have to bend alot to lay against the door.

Here's the link to the ones I bought and the picture shown shows how they fit/look on my car: http://www.sportwing.com/ford-edge-body-side-molding.aspx

Yes I have 2 long and 2 short. The long one for the front seems correct but the rear ones are 2 inches longer than yours. Thanks for the help. I'll call sport wing today.

  8. I purchased and i'm ready to install body side moldings from Sport Wing. I believe the ones for the rear door are too long. When mounted at the specified height in the instructions the bullet end of the rear molding extends about 3 inches into the curve of the rear wheel well and therefore does not lay flat. These moldings are 28,5 inches long. Can anyone who has these tell me if they are the correct size?
