  1. Remove the center finish panel that surronds the radio then remove the lower panel under the steering column, then remove the two bolts for the cluster. . There is a rubber piece between the upper steering column and the cluster that snaps into the cluster housing just pull up on it to release it. The cluster then can be pulled out which allows you to disconnect the rear liftgate connector if you have the power lifgate option. After the cluster comes out remove the wire harness for the cluster. It's pretty once you figure it out. It took me awhile since I didn't realize the rubber piece was there.

  2. I will have my wife tell the service manager of this upgrade when we are having our 4 new rims installed due to corrosion of the outer clear coated aluminum rim. I will gladly pay $50 bucks if this upgrade would save my wifes/ 5 month old daughters life in the event of, god forbid, a crash.

How did you manage to get them to replace your wheels? the dealership keeps telling me that it happens on all rims that have a "lip" and that it is "rock" chips and not corrosion.

  3. I had a simular issue only my lift gate would sometimes not close, i would press a button (remote or internal) and the gate would start to close but as soon as it got to the bottom to lock in place, it would then go back up as if something was in the way. i had to manually close it and deal with the "gate ajar" warning for a while or pop the hood to pull the power cable from the battery to reset. I also started having issues with the Shift Interlock System and not releasing the transmission out of Park. I brought my Edge in today for them to look at and they told me that the "SMART Junctiob Box" was the cuprit and has odered me a replacement, it goes in tomorrow. I will give an update to see if this has fixed the issue.

  4. I know it's a little late for this, but the CX-7 is Junk. i just traded mine in (2yrs old) and what a lemon. It was in the shop so often that it was a running joke at my work. I loved the handling and the zoom zoom but it just wasn't worth the consistant issues. Some of the issues we intermitant that they(dealer) wouldn't even do anything, and that was at 3 different dealers. Anyways I traded it in yesterday for a 2010 Edge, and I love how much more comfortable the Edge is. I bought the limited and WOW is all I can say, I love all the toy's that most imports miss the mark on, mind you, the imports tend to have better fit and finnish. The brakes on the Edge so far are a the biggest let down compaired to the CX-7 but i can adjust, maybe a replacement of the pads and or rotors would be a big benifit? anyone try it yet? any info would be appreciated. Mileage tends to be close but at least I don't need premium (due to the turbo) anymore. Turbo lag was bad, especially if you decide to go for that "yellow" light.

Overall I did like the styling and the zoom zoom of the CX-7 and probably would have kept it if it were not for all the issues.

Only had the Edge for a day now so we will see how it goes, but it does feel like more of an upgrade compaired to the CX-7. (oooh and the leather heated seats.....where have u been all my life? I love them)
