  1. Wow. I had no idea that so many folks didn't like the Edge. I love mine. Most of these things, to me, seem incidental. Repeaters on the rear view mirror? Really? You need reminding which way you are turning when looking in the rear view mirror? Buy a mini van. Gas struts on the hood? How often are you looking under the hood? Granted, I do not have the Vista Roof. But I foresaw issues with it before buying and decided not to go with that way. My gas mileage is around 19.2 - 19.4 city and 24.9 - 25.6 highway. I have the SEL with 18 inch tires. Yes, it is a heavy car. But I like it that way. This past winter we had a lot of snow and when most cars are sliding around, I broke traction only once and it was my fault. I love this car. I really enjoy everything about it. Even the front grill has grown on me. That was the one thing while buying that I wasnt too sure about. DeckRoid in Idaho.
  2. Signed up. No issues yet. Love the car. Truck. CUV... whatever you wanna classify it as. Of course, I have only had it a week.
  3. Ok, so I hit the Ford site and typed in my VIN. No recalls. But it didnt tell me when it was made, what, if any, TSBs might be attributed to my fine Edge. Am I missing something? Is there a place to go to find this out? Fords site says that the production sequence is A78123. But that doesnt tell me when the axle was made, when it was put together, etc etc... Help?
  4. This is a Thank You for everyone involved in building my Edge. I mean it. From the designers to the workers on the line to the cleaning crew who sweeps up afterwards. My car is just a beautiful machine. I have the SEL AWD Edge and have been nothing but happy since I drove it off the show room floor Saturday, July 7, 2007. Took it on a 15 mile gravel road which had some nasty washboard for a good long stretch. I was ready to be amazed at the quiet freeway sounds, the smooth ride... and all that. I mean, I did the research. I read up on many different reviews. But the semi-off road stuff wasn't really covered. The Edge is a thing of beauty that holds its own on the nasty washboard roads of Idaho. We are not used to such nice stuff. I mean, we are not extravagant by any means. Driving the Edge sometimes makes me feel like my beer drinking buddies just caught me hiring a butler. I get alot of looks as I am driving around town... and some are the surprised look of "what is that?" Thank you again. George
  5. Hear, hear! I have the Audiophile Edge. A 6 cd-mp3-changer with an mp3 input AND Sirius radio pumped thru 190 watt amp to 8 speakers and a nice 8 inch bass?!? What else would you need? After adjusting the Bass and Treble, it sounds just as good as the custom stereo in my Jeep that I traded in. 1 cd = 700 mb 700 mb * 6 cds = 4200 mb Average mp3 song = 5 mb 4200 / 5 = 840 songs That's one h*** of a playlist for a road trip.
  6. The dealer had them installed as a custom job. This car was on the showroom floor. We drove others, but almost everything we wanted was in this one. Only thing we didnt get that was on our list was the Vista View.
  7. Is that the famous rock that Hollywood uses? You know, Capt. Kirk is fighting some dude in a lizard suit...

  9. Some things that have worked with my comptroller (both at work and home): 1.) Make a deal, a give and take if you will 2.) Plead 3.) Jewelry (although, my boss didnt know quite what to make of the ear rings I got him...) 4.) "It is easier to beg forgiveness than to ask for permission" (although the one who said that never met my wife!!) 5.) Hypnotize This last one is rather tricky and may have unforeseen consequences.
  10. The interior was done by a local shop. Katz-something-or-other. It is all leather seats, and comfy! And that smell. The new car smell mixed with new leather. Driving home last night was like a dream. Sorry, I digress. The shop also added heated seats. The switch is on the seat itself down by the tilt controls. Originally, all this added $1999.99 to the price. However, this being summer and the dealer wanting to move units... it didn't cost us anything. Well, cost us anything extra. I will take pics of the back seat too, cuz they are just as nice as the front, when I take the car seats out. For now, I think I will take the family out to breakfast... and go for a lil drive!
  11. I can't keep my hands off it! I am SO damn happy with this cool car.
  12. Hey all. SO... we went to test drive an Edge, thinking we would wait and order a 2008. After all was said and done, we just took the one off the showroom floor cuz of the deal they offered. Dune colored, two tone interior w/ 2 tone matching leather, special made in town. SEL with audiophile system. We LOVE this vehicle. OH, and it's my b-day today, so the wife said Happy B-day, here's a car.
  13. Hi. The wife and I just fell in love with the Edge last week when we test drove one. Seeing as how we want to order one, the salesman suggested waiting until after July 9th when we would be able to order the 2008. Of course, they wont be rolling off the assembly line until after Labor Day, we still think it will be worth the wait. Do they offer short term, 2 month, leases?!? LOL.... Will post the options we go with, but I can tell you that Ink Blue is looking really nice!
