  1. I'm also experiencing the transmission thump when slo0wing and then accelerating. I just traded my 2009 in for a used 2012 and it's the first thing I noticed. I thought the brakes on my 2009 were mushy but better on the '12.
  2. I just purchased my second Ford edge. I had a 2009 Limited that I absolutely loved but I was concerned that there was the beginning of rust on the front hood and along the wheel wells and with over 100,000 miles, repairs would start getting expensive. I traded it in for a 2012 SEL and could not be happier. My last edge did not have the panoramic roof like this one. Cool feature though I'm worried that I will miss the roof rack. This one came with the tow package which I wanted. One owner before me and a great experience at Smith Ford in Cooperstown. This Edge seems quieter than my 2009 and currently is getting better gas mileage. My 2009 used to get ice/mud build up on the inside of the 20 inch wheels that made the car feel like it was going to shake apart. I had to take it into the dealer and have them put it up on a lift to scrape the ice and caked on mud off the inside of the wheel. I'm hoping the 18 inch wheels won't have the same problem. I do a lot of winter driving on pretty bad roads where they put a lot of salt and sand down. If they keep making the Edge as good as this, I'll keep buying one. I like all the bells and whistles, the heated leather seats (though my girls keep asking when they're going to heat the back seats), the MFT, etc. I rode in the back seat of a friends new Explorer the other day and swear that the edge had more leg room in the back. I like the look of the new Edge but I no longer buy new cars so I'll wait a few years and see how it fairs.
  3. I've been waiting over a week for a front wheel bearing for my "09 Edge. My dealer, (whom I like and trust so far) says there appears to be a problem with quality control on them and they don't expect shipment until mid August. Has anyone else heard of this? Is anyone else experiencing premature failure of wheel bearings. I've owned vehicles in which I've never repalced a wheel bearing. What gives. At least it's under warranty (if they ever get the part).
  4. Okay so it's almost May and the snow has finally stopped falling. But my tires still vibrate horribly. My dealer is good about putting it up on the lift and scrapping the mud and sand caked in there but I got to believe there is abetter solution. I've done the car wash wand inside the wheel, my hand is too fat for the openings to scape the muck.. I love this car but I can't afford to move a non-snow area yet.
  5. I have a 2009 Edge Limited with 20 inch wheels. Every time I drive in snow where the snow is wet and/or sludgy, I apparently get a build up on the rear wheels making the car vibrate pretty violently. It only happens to the rear wheels and usually Ionly feel it after getting on a dry road where I can drive 60 mph or above. Anyone else experience this?
