Sorry to say that you are not correct. They are shipping Edges for sure and they are already arriving. I've taken one for a ride and the one I've ordered is scheduled to ship early next week. I also heard that there was a problem with the Mytouch system but also heard that it was fixed. Have not heard from anyone on any board that I go to that has indicated any delays like you have been mentioning. Maybe the earlier orders were delayed as I've heard some that ordered in May and June are just getting there cars now. I know production of 2011's did not start until sometime in July and shipping not until mid August.

Just looked over the window sticker and it is the same as it was when it first saw it last Friday when I was told that it would be built this week. Hmmm..

Cyberdman told me now that it is in second stage of production today while Joanne said on the ramp. Yes this is frustrating but both have at least confirmed it is at least part of the way through production.

NOt sure what is up and who has the most up to date data. Joanne told me I'm on the ramp. Haven't heard anything from Cyberdman so I assume he hasn't seen any update since earlier this week on my car which means it's being built this week. I'll let you know if I get anything back from Cyberdman.

Hi Wilson, Yes just got a message from Ford on Twitter and car in getting ready to be loaded for shipping. I then went to SYNC website and it does show that there is a SYNC Version installed but does not say which one. Does your SYNC also ask you to verify / check your VIN? I think this might have to done once the car arrives at it appears you need to load some software onto the vehicle. Under "Manage SYNC", then Account Settings, my page has "Check your VIN", then "Vehicle Information" and then "Confirmed Installations". Does that look the same as yours? thanks,

On the Manage SYNC page there is no View confrim installations. Might be because none is installed yet. Is that located above the "Owner to Owner" FAQ box?

Where on the website wil it show the install date? I've created an account and when I Login I get Please Check your VIN. I assume that indicates that the software is not loaded yet? Where on the website will it show the install date? My vehicle is supposed to be built this week and hopefully be delivered next week. I'm only 4 hours away from the plant in Canada so no borders to cross. Getting pretty excited.

The one I drove, an SEL, had the little blind spot mirror so I'd assume that they all do. BTW, I'm in Canada as that might make a difference if you are in the US.

Hi Luvford, I did the same thing on Monday night. Took a 2011 for a drive. My car is scheduled for Sept 13 build (a Monday, yikes!!). I also found the ride better than the 2010. I really like the changes to both the front and the back. The fog lights are great on the 2011. As you said the My Ford Touch system is pretty sweet and will take time to figure all out but I think once that is done it will be much easier. I tried numerous voice commands and they all seemed to work (raise temperature, lower temperature, increase fan, etc..). Didn't try voice commands with Nav system but while parked the Nav system was perfect and as good as my current Garmin system. Only catch is that with the Ford Nav, you cannot have the passenger change the route or locate a destination while you are driving. I think this can be done via voice commands with the driver but haven't tried it. Did you drive a car with the upgraded sound system? I was in the SEL with the 6 speakers and dual knob control rather than the touch contol / 12 speakers for the upgraded system. I'm only 4 hours from the Oakville plant so I hope shipping will be rather quick. Time will tell.

Bought mine in July in Ottawa. 2011 limited FWD, Nav, Tow package, Red Candy, Floor mats, Etch Registration, $35,387 ($39,987 with HST). Dealer cost after 6% commission from Ford = $34,543. So profit approx. $800. Which I thought was fair and that I almost got at another dealership (and most likely would have with more back and forth action but they didn't take my initial offer but were did move some and I thought would have moved more) but this dealership did so I went with them as they accepted my initial offer. Given all this I'm still not sure I got the best price but I'm happy with the price. As you said, also getting $2,000 for retire my ride + $300 for the same from provincial government.

Edges on the lot here in Ottawa, Ontario as of today. They are on their way.

Hi all, Been also following this forum: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/4938-woohooo-just-ordered-my-edge-2011/page__st__20 I've heard it there and elsewhere that there has been a problem with the Mytouch / Sync / Microsoft interface of some type but that it has been resolved and shipping has commenced as of last Thursday I think, so there has been some back-up in the system a bit. I placed my order late July and no VIN yet so I'm not expecting delivery until October.

From what I've read on other boards on this site, the Mytouch/Sync issues have been resolved and shipping from Oakville plant started yesterday.

I placed my order for 2011 limited Edge on 7/27. As of today, 2 weeks later, the order is at Ford but has not been submitted / received by the plant. At that point, CRC, mentioned that delivery is 6 - 10 weeks once that happens. So without a VIN# as of yet you will be looking at October delivery at the earliest.

Thanks Waldo. Let me make sure everything is clear. I have ordered the Nav option on the 2011. I assume it will either have a dvd or sd card with the maps on it. So you are saying that it will give verbal turn by turn directions based on the maps on the dvd or sd card, correct? So what benefit is the "Sync" subscription provide in my case? Just real-time traffic integration in the selection of the best route?

Just wondering if anyone knows if the 2011 edge navigation system gives turn by turn directions without the Sync monthly subscription?

Ordered my new edge last week: 2011 Candy Red Limited FWD Tow Package Nav system Floor Mats Etch Registration $35,387 ($39,987 with HST) $Cdn Now, this delay due to Microsoft and MyTouch. Is this for real? I was hoping for mid-September delivery at the latest.
