  1. I talked to customer service when I was having issues, not this specific one, and they sent me a jump drive with the update.
  2. My 2011 Edge was built in August of 2010. I ordered it in May... it was a long summer waiting for it! Picked it up from the dealer Sept 11, 2010. I still love it... just annoyed with the back-up camera not working. Has to be a bad contact or something! I was fed up with it, it hadn't worked since April, so I made an appointment and took it to the dealer June 1st and wouldn't you know it when I backed it out of the garage that morning to take it to the dealer... the camera worked! And it worked the whole time it was in the shop and for 2 days after! But hasn't worked since. So daily I have shift to park warnings, see dealer for camera warnings, cross traffic alert failure warnings and blind spot failure warnings. All the things I waited for.
  3. Nope never got this resolved. I took it to the dealer and they couldn't get it to not work. Ford customer service said that they couldn't do anything since the dealer couldn't identify the issue. I just deal with no back up camera and pushing the shift button 5 times when I put the car in park before it recognizes it's in park. A couple weeks ago the back up camera randomly started working again... but stopped after about 4 days. I think it's crazy that FORD knows that this is an issue with these early built 2011 models but doesn't want to fix the problem. I'm not going to pay to have the shifter cable replaced when I can still drive the car just fine.
  4. I think the shift is on the way out,I ha talked to customer service since Ford knows this has been an issue with my early production Edge. However when I took it to the dealer they could not replicate the camera not coming on or the shift to park message. UGH!!!!!!!!!!! So "nothing" can be done. I find that hard to believe as the minute I got in the car to back up I got the "check with the dealer" message that the rearview camera wasn't working. At least the car still drives great, I'm capable of backing up without the camera and the car is in park even though the computer thinks it's not.
  5. I have the same "clunk" in my right front wheel but only when I make hard fast turns. I've had it checked out at two different places and both said the struts were fine, tie rods fine, no visible damage to any suspension components, and I got new tires and brakes and still have the clunk.
  6. Has anyone replaced their intelligent access key? Bought a new one and programmed it themselves or had it programmed at the dealer? I tried to replace the battery in the one fob I used all the time and now it's completely broken/dead. The spare fob that was rarely used seems to not be working well either. When I went to the dealer to get a new key for the one I mangled they all acted like if I didn't have 2 working keys they couldn't program a new one. The parts department wouldn't even order me a new one. I read the owner's manual and it says the dealer must do the new programming if there aren't two programmed IAK available. I have both the old keys but the one doesn't work unless it's in the slot in the center console. Any advice would be appreciated. Catherine
  7. I now have to lock and unlock the car with the fob in my hand and push the start button at least 5 times to start the car. My love of this car is quickly turning to hate! All the things about it that made it fun to drive are now making it aggrivating! Rear view camera doesn't work Can't leave the IK in my purse, doors won't unlock, tailgate won't unlock Push button start takes 5 tries Cross Traffic sensor not available warnings When I turn the car off I get the key not detected warning Car not in park warning. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is there a simple fix? Do I need a new battery in the Intelligent Key? A new battery for the car (has original battery)?
  8. I've been using the spare key fob and have been having the same issues. I usually have to push the start button 2+ times to get it to start.
  9. For 5 years I've kept the IK in my wallet and I've never had this issue. This morning I had to get out of the car and lock and unlock it a few times before anything happened when I pushed the start button. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Thanks xK317Hx, I've looked at that thread... most of the issues on that thread are ones I'm not having problems with. I'm never missing the lines or the picture being green or upside down... it just doesn't come on. Yesterday after it wasn't working I was messing around with the gear shift and pushed the manual + button on the shifter, after that when I put it into reverse the camera came on... maybe just a coincidence... but so far it's working again.
  11. Camera not working again... really don't want to spend $400 on a new camera.
  12. Wilson, I always use the same IK fob the other one sits at home so I was thinking it was probably the battery in the fob... it is 5 years old! Crazy story...One day I was parking my car at work (when my camera wasn't working) and backed into a space. I turned the car off locked the door but didn't close it, then realize I still could back up about 4 more feet. I got back in the car and closed the door. Nothing happened. The car wouldn't start, the slot didn't work in the console didn't work. I was freaking out. I finally decided to get out and figured I come back later to see if I could get it to start. Once I opened the door a count down appeared on the screen with 5 seconds counting down and a beep. After 5 seconds the horn started honking. In my embarrassment I finally figured out if I pushed the unlock button on the fob the horn stopped honking. I got back in and was able to start the car on the first try. I guess it's a anti-theft feature...
  13. The last two days when I get in my car to start it, I push the button and nothing happens. I have to push it a few times to get it to start. Sometimes I get the no key detected message even though I have the key in my purse. Other times I get nothing. Has anyone had this issue? Is it the keyfob that needs a new battery or the push botton itself?
  14. Julie Navigation worked great yesterday, no off-roading at all even when going through complicated interstate exchanges with multiple crossing ramps. Catherine
  15. Julie, I haven't tried out navigation since I updated my software. Before I was off-road all the time. I'll have to try it out today need to drive out of state this afternoon. I'll report back. I have had the shift to park error again since the update and have had both blind spot error warning and cross traffic alert warnings still. So I guess all the bugs aren't fixed. I have noticed that when I get the shift to park error the "P" still shows white on the dash until I wiggle around the shifter. Once it turns orange/red the warning goes away. They are all annoying for sure... but the car is still drivable and I still love it bugs and all!!! First World Car problems I always say. Catherine
