perhaps you have programmed the mykey thing which allows different settings for different drivers? both my keys are admin, just a thought..

I ordered my card, received it the next day and installed the update on my drive home from work last night. I was previously on 3.2.2. Install took approx 45 mins, prior to the update I removed the old nav card (a3) and USB (with my music). I performed a master reset (to be on the safe side) then inserted the Usb with the update. Drove home (approx 45 mins) install completed (there were 3 reboots during install), I did a new master reset after the update, and inserted the NAV (a4). System is working and appears to be working normally. Entering nav destinations seems faster, GPS lock after parking indoors(garage) seems to take longer (1-2 mins) Indexing my USB music approx 1700 songs took 3 mins for indexing and building media commands.

Overall not much changed but only time will tell. I have a very early 2011 edge (I got it in Oct 2010)

Seems to be a common problem, mine shows be in the bush every once while, usually it corrects itself in a few mins. Waiting for the new A4 card to upgrade MTF to the newer version, hopefully it will correct that problem.

I thought I read somewhere to try disconnecting your Bluetooth cell if you have one connected. I haven't tried it myself, but it may help.

I'm new here. I recently purchased a 2011 Edge Sport with 11,000 miles. I love the car so far, but I have come upon one issue... During a recent snow storm, something go caught on my wipers and it scratched/smudged the windshield following the arch path of the wiper. Not sure if it was the dragging blade or something on the blade that scracthed it... Anyway, I've been trying to figure out how to attempt to remove the scratch/smudge. I tried toothpaste, diluted vinegar, Magic Eraser..nothing worked yet. I have read about trying either polishing compound or cerium oxide (jewelers rouge). Has anyone resolved an issue like this on their Edge? Is it just me or do our windshields seem a little soft?

 

 

Also, due to this situation, I have decided to replace the windshield wiper blades. I bought the Rain-X Latitude blades, and they do not "click" to lock in place. Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone have a suggestion on an aftermarket windshield wiper for our cars that click to lock in place?

Sorry I cannot comment on other blades which work, however I have a 2011 Ford Edge, and I had a bird bomb on the windshield. In my haste to remove it, I sprayed the windshield with a hose, and used a car wash brush to remove the bomb, however it was stuck on pretty good, I figured it's glass and used the edge of the car wash brush to scrape it off, and while I got the stuff of, it left a whole wack of find scratches on the windshield around 8 inch's square... I've been living with it for a while, I guess it will take a windshield replacement to fix it..

Just wanted to comment your not the only one with windshield scratches, not sure if its soft or normal.

Noticed something else with the update other than temp display.

 

I have a lifetime Sirius radio subscription and after the update all of my sync services are working and say subscribed

weather, movies, gas etc. Never worked before in Canada

Its cause there's a Sirius trial going on, I think it ends Sept 11th, 2012 I haven't updated and all mine say Subscribed except radio, and yes the radio works, but tells me i'm unsubscribed.. I tried some of the travelink stuff, however most of it isn't working in the GTA. i.e. weather shows buffalo NY.

Looks great, Any opinion on System X? Applied to to my 2011 Edge a few weeks ago, Very easy on/off however not sure on a comparison between CQ and OG/OC. I just cleaned and coated no correction, so it was just a couple of hours of time.

I use both in fact. I use ZC for the wheels, barrels and wells and ZP for the tires as it does a much better job of pulling the brown out of the tires.

Good to know I'll have to pick up some ZP next time i'm at home depot.

Zep Purple degreaser from Home Depot cut 4:1. Spray on, scrub, power wash off. Lots of brown gunk gets removed.

Any reason to use Zep Purple vs Zep citrus? I've cleaned mine a couple of times with Zep Citrus 4:1 I haven't noticed any problems.

Installer should have a gauge that will tell him what the Factory is by placing it up to your windows.. I believe Factory is 35%.

I had my fronts done to 35%, its lighter than the factory but, its the darkest allowed where I live.

I have the newest version on my 11 Limited. When on the home screen, the navigation will only display the compass and stopped displaying the street name. It will still display the street name when on the red entertainment screen in the upper right corner. I tried a master reset, repaired the phone and toggled many times between screen and nav settings. I also removed and reinserted the nav card a few times. Anyone else with this isse and how did you solve it?

Mine did that after a couple of weeks, what I did was use the nav once, and now its back.. not sure if it just needed a kick, I basically asked it to navigate to my home, and then cancelled the route after it started. Now it's back.. much faster/easier than pulling the fuse, or doing a mster reset.

if it's playing from USB when I shutdown the car, next time I start up it continues from USB. a whole lot faster than the old system. Before I would wait 30-50 secs before the usb started playing, now it's almost instant.

Got my package Friday, installed on saturday, did a master reset before the upgrade just to ensure things went ok, took approx 50-55 mins total, did a master reset after just for the heck of it. Paired 2 phones, so far it's ok, haven't tried the nav yet, however playing music off USB is much quicker now. Indexing took less than a minute for 1500 songs, and building voice commands was done before the 1st song stopped playing.

If I were to believe all the promises made by Ford my kit was to arrive 3-4 weeks ago. They made promises and promises, then my dealer really went out of his way to locate me and give me the dealer SD card and update.

 

I find it interesting that it was to have shipped in the week of March 5th give or take 2 weeks for all shipments. Being now a month later and nothing makes me think they are having some sort of problems with Delivery in Canada. Which makes me think it might be the English/French problem.

I think the shipment dates are all over the place, some ppl said march 5-6, some said march 12, some march 19th, some april 2nd.. I don't think there is any proof that any of the dates are accurate, until someone actually gets a package in the mail in Canada, we can't really be sure the mailings have started.

I got a letter saying to bring mine in a couple of weeks ago - I got mine Sept 10 and never updated, so I knew I had to go in. Still waiting for a more conclusive verdict on quality.

I actually picked up mine in oct 2010, I did get a postcard about the update(much later than most of the ppl who reported it online) , but no sign of the package, haven't called or bothered a dealer yet, I am currently on 2.11 but did take it into the dealer once to upgrade from 1.8 to 2.7 before I self installed the 2.11 update. Have had some issues minor, mostly looking forward to the updated maps and the faster speed.

oh and i'm in Canada so we seem to be at least a month or so behind the u.s. folks.

On my 2011 LTD if the washer fluid is low, there is a message on the left side of the ode looks like a picture of the windshield and you have to press ok to get rid of it.

So I was having coffee with my wife and my salesman tracked me down to inform me that in todays mail came a handful of SD cards for the new MFT.

Needless to say I was in there 10 minutes later and had the upgrade done. An hour later I was on my way with the new update and SD card for the maps. The maps are different and the unit is extremely quick to respond. All in all seems simpler, so all Canadian dealers should be receiving their SD cards and upgrade any day now if not today. Unfortunately only a small handful arrived at my dealer so some customers might have to wait in the mail for theirs.

Glad to hear any least one dealer in Canada has received something, I'm guessing we won't see it arriving at our own mailboxes for another few weeks..

Performance upgrade took 45 minutes only problem found was within the calendar. Shows date of July 2, 2031. Can only change date back to 2030, SYNC told me that they are aware of the problem.

Wasn't this a problem with the old version too? I though I read the fix was to disconnect the battery for 30 mins, reconnect with line of sight to the sky and it will sync up with the satellites?

Nothing in the GTA either, and I'd rather wait for a package then download and lose Nav.

Thanks. I thought it would cause warranty issues. Just have to get used to it. But the one at work I park by looks much better. Just don't understand the variance between them . They are the same year and model.

is it possible your wheels are a different size? the larger the wheel the smaller the gap will look. you can have 18, 20, or 22's.

45-60 minutes.

I think the 1st 5-10 mins to kick off the install you should remain parked, however you can drive for the rest of the update from what I have read. So kick off the install and drive to wherever, as long as it's about a 45-min to hour drive I can complete it on my drive to work one morning once I get the package.

I'm confused on version numbers. I have a 2012 Edge, purchased in December, and not long after I had it, I went to Sync My Ride, downloaded the Status Checker Tool, installed it, and did all of what I was supposed to do. Sync My Ride reports that I have Sync VersionGen2 - V2.11 installed, and no additional updates are available. So other than the pending upgrade, how do others have what appears to be a higher version number? Thanks, Jim

2.11 is the newest version prior to the performance upgrade. I think your confusing the versions due to 2.7 looks like a newer version but it's actually older. you can think of 2.7 and 2.8 as 2.07 and 2.08 so 2.11 is higher.

I agree. The panels on my Edge all look and fit great. The only complaint I have regarding "fit and finish" would be the interior plastic trim on the B pillar, which is slightly off, and it's pretty minor.

My gaps seem to be fine, however when looking through the mirrors and the chrome window trim on the limited they look slightly out of alignment however you never notice if your standing outside the car.
