This whole story sounds made up. Name the dealership and the salesman. I'll make a call to them and we will all get the facts straight. :elefant:

Absolute BULL, your dealer screwed up, plane and simple and expects you to pay for his mistakes.For the thousanth time-there are NO problems with the Vista roofs. We've been building them since Day 1.

rt2525, Do you work for ford? And can I quote you on it and show it to the dealership?

As the sales manager explained it to me by restricted was since ford was behind on production they just sent vechiles with or without the Vista roofs and it didn't matter what you ordered! Which I think the dealership just f@#ked up!

I just need someone from the factory to tell me this is not true, and I'll show the dealership that they messed up

I would walk. Especially if they are charging you for something that isn't there. BULL****. Just go to another dealer or tell your dealer to order you another vehicle because you aren't paying for anything that isn't there.

Yeah, I'm sure leaning that way hard! But has anyone heard of a restriction on the vista roof! Or just BS'ing me around and messed up the order?

I ordered my vechile on the week of Thanksgiving (in Canada) and my dealership called me to today to tell me the my Edge SEL w/vista roof was here, Yay! So, I thought any ways! So, I get into test drive it and I look up and NO VISTA ROOF! WTF So, I tell them this must not be mine? but it was! I talked to the sales manager and he says that the Vista Roof is on restriction, and that ford is just pushing out whatever it can do? 1st. is this true? 2nd. The Sales manager refuses to give me any kind of deal of on it, he's planning on charging for the vista roof even though it's not there! 3rd. They knew the vechile wasn't coming in with a Vista Roof in Mid December and apparently forgot to tell me, so I've been without a vechile for almost 4 months now, when I could have ordered a new Edge with the option or another vechile. 5th. he told me straight out that I have too talk to ford about this because they won't talk to them to get it straightened out for me! 6th Then he has the balls to say take or leave it because I can sell it tomorrow!

P.S. The chrome wheels also didn't come either, but I don't care less about that.

I don;t really want to start a thread like this but this is what I got of my first tank: 340KM on odometer and 64 Liters regular gas at pump.So this is about 20L/100KM.

This is a AWD SEL+, millage is 695.3KM, 50/50 city/freeway driving, it was only few time I pushed the engine to over 3K rpm, most of time it around 1200~2000 RPM.

 

Any suggestions? Maybe there was someone stealing my gas since there is no lock on the gas cap and filler cap? :banghead:

So how much CDN does it cost to fill the EDGE?

I was going to put an Edge on order end of this month. Financial plans have changed, but I digress. My dealer said if one is ordered to my spec at end of January, it should arrive Early March. I would say with some of the delays and backlog they are dealing with at the plant, 2 months is probably right. They had some manufacturing issues that were worked out, but they have to repair some of the ones that were already done and in storage.

 

So to be safe, I'd say 2 months for orders for the next month or so. By summer, probably less.

It usually takes about 6 weeks from the day you order it to get out of the factory, I was told. Then there is delivery time added onto that which will add about about another 10 or 12 days on that! I would order now if you really want one!

Could someone give me an idea of how many Edge's are still waiting to get worked on. Mine was build a bunch of months ago, but is sitting around. Thanks-

Mine was ordered on Sep 29th (SEL w/vista), and I'll be recieving it on the 18th of January. So, I hope that's some what of a indication of how long of wait you'll have.

Read on Automotive News and heard it from our production manager. Yes we are shipping today! Good news for both customers and us workers. Once our on-site storage area gets some room we can really start pumpin' em out.

Just curious, where are these holding points in Western Canada! My dealer today told me that all the holding points are around Oakville, ON.....is this true? He also said it would be about a 10 to 14 day train ride to the West before I even get to see it :angry:

Who cares if Mark Fields gets a haircut! Just as long as he fixes what the hold up is. Frankly, I think this should have been done more then a month ago by Mark Fields! Ford says this is supposed to be the most important launch of 2006 and by the sounds of it, I won't be getting my vechile this year. Good one Ford

Next, to role down the line is the one's with the BAMER which are roling down the line as I write this!

Yup that would be a good way to discribe me at Ford, but all jobs are done better and easier with the right tool.

 

The delays are for all the right reasons. Ford is serious about the product and if you look at thier resent quality record with new product (Fusion, MKZ, Milan, 500, Mondeo, Freestyle) you would know there were delays and there were zero recalls.

 

Oh ya, got a shipping date, but I'll let you sweat it.

This is another bad launch for Ford.

My salesman can't give me a shipping date that's firm.

So far it has changed 3 times as has the production date of my ordered vehicle.

 

If I don't hear from him by the of the week, I'm canceling my order.

 

Maybe in February, when sales are sluggish and incentives are high enough to try and move this poorly marketed car, I might have another look see.

This car was ordered back in the middle of August.

 

Now, there are ads on TV and there is no product to be seen in the showrooms!!!!

I feel your pain my friend! When I talked to my dealer last, they told me the Edge was comin in a week so I went out sold my Lightning privately. To my surprise, it didn't show up. Now, I'm left without a vechile. I'm really on the verge of finding something different becasue this really starting to piss me off.

Aside from Edmunds, there is another magazine that reported on the Edge's brakes as not being up to par. I cannot remember which one right now though.

 

Then again, magazines have attacked the Fusion's 3.0L engine as being weak while owners themselves are happy with it.

Hey guys, I wish I would have seen this site before. Well I'm pissed off! My dealer just called and said that the edge I ordered won't be here until another couple of weeks. I just sold my only vechile last week, as they told me that the vechile was in transit and would be there shortly. What do you think I should do?
