  1. My dealer hasn't successfully completed any of these updates. I am thinking eventually we all have to get it as I think future updates will build off of it, but I am waiting a few more weeks. Talk to your service manager and see if you feel he is being honest with you and find out their experiences with the system.

So I talked to the Service Manager and he tells me it's a 3 hour job and they have done 6 other vehicles. Successfully is what he's saying but really define successful....without talking to the vehicle owners how would you know. He says I can come anytime and get it done; no pressure.

  2. I haven't really been on the boards lately so I will apologize in advance if this has been discussed somewhere already. I got a call from my dealership informing me that an upgrade was now available and I could make an appointment to come in and have it done - 2 to 2 1/2 hrs to get it done. The thing is I've never had any issues so I'm thinking maybe I should skip it. What do you guys think? Is there an advantage to getting it that I'm maybe not thinking of?

  3. Our Sport has been performing exceptionally in all the snow we've gotten. A trip during an ice storm with fozen streets was the diciest driving i've done, but that was like driving on a hockey rink...and I still got to my destination safely. Dont think a second set of tires will be needed here in NJ, but if anyone is interested, Pirelli does make specific Snow/Ice tires in a 22" size to match our stock tires.

My Sport has been performing extremely well too! We got 8" of the white stuff yesterday; the whole city practically took a snow day. I just motored along to work like nobody's business. Even before the plows had done some of the streets I had no problem and I'm using the 22" that it came with. I'm not disappointed with the performance of these tires at all!

  4. Here is an update since I ordered my 2011 last night. I ordered the Limited AWD w/Drivers Entry Package, Canadian Touring Package and block heater. My total price for the purchase after rebates and credits was $37,485.

    Purcashe in Edmonton, Alberta.

It was my luck that starting December 1st Ford and Costco re-introduced the $1,000 costco member rebate!!!!!

Yeah, that Costco money has to be the easiest freebie around isn't it? Congratulations on your purchase; when are you going to get it?

  5. Trisha have that looked at. Mine set for all settings. It is a full on ride getting in and pushing the button after my hubby drives... He is 6 2 and I am 5 8 - not a huge difference, but our legs are the same length so it is all torso difference.

I actually did take it to the dealers as I tried six ways to Sunday and couldn't get it to go up and down as part of the memory. They were the ones that told me that it does not go up and down. Maybe I'm not explaining myself very well either. When I get in I would like the seat to be low; then after I get in and start the car I would like it to raise up and put me in the proper position for driving which is up high. They said I can only have the height in one position and it will adjust to that position only. The easy exit works fine but the seat only stays at the one height. Does this make sense?

  6.

Hi, I am going tonight to order my 2011 Edge tonight. I am torn between ordering the Limited or the SEL. The only interesting differences are the memory seats and the rearview camera. Me and my wife are short (5'5") and found it a bit cumbersome to get out of the Edge when we test drove so the memory seats would be a neat function to have. The rearview camera I am not sold on as I have never had it before.

So my question ends up being is the difference in price ($1700) worth going with the Limited versus SEL?

Congratulations! Just so you know though the memory seats do no "remember" up and down. Whatever height you adjust them to they stay like that. I'm shorter than you and I use both memory buttons. One to get om and out and after I start the car I hit the second one to bring me up to the level I like to use for driving. Maybe you and your wife can use the same 2 settings unless of course whatever height you adjust it to to get in is the same one you want for driving. I'm only 5'2"

  7. I don't have your logic Trisha but I also thought about hooking the net to the knobs

    but then...

I saw in the manual that those two knobs are for grocery bags.

The utility hook can be used to hang small items such as grocery bags, etc. Do not hang more than 10 lb (4.5 kg) on the hook.

The manual says this for the cargo net:

The cargo net secures lightweight objects in the cargo area. Attach the net to the loops and anchors provided.

The drawing shows it in the vertical position

Yeah, I saw that about the grocery bags and I thought it was kind of dumb. Not saying my thinking was any clearer but hey it works and my eggs don't get cracked! :victory:

  8. Ok. I'm an idiot too, that's not how I received mine, and not how I kept it. Lol mine is straight up and down against the back. Lol. I like this setup better. Is this how it was designed to be? Makes sense of the mushroom top knobs.

I didn't receive mine that way either. I don't want to start anything here but I just used female logic and put it on the way I thought it should go! lol :cheerleader:
