  1. Just a thought, what is your MyTemp set to? Below is the MyTemp section of the owners manual.

MyTemp: Touch and hold to save the desired temperature for MyTemp. To access this setting again, simply touch the indicator.

The MyTemp feature can be used to store and recall a preset driver’s temperature. This feature is provided so this temperature

can be quickly adjusted to a frequently used setting with a single button touch. To save a new preset temperature for the active

user, manually adjust the driver’s temperature to the desired value then touch and hold the MyTemp button for at least two seconds.

Any subsequent touch of the MyTemp button will automatically change to this set temperature for this user.

The preset temperature can be saved for each user via a personal computer and transferred to the vehicle via a USB device. Refer to

Creating a user profile in the Entertainment Systems chapter for more information.

  2. dkor,

You have a bad case of forum fever. :fan: By reading all these posts and fixating on the problems a few people have had, you've lost perspective. You also do not understand the basics of how the vehicle works. I have a 2011 Ford Edge Limited AWD with the 302A package and I can tell you, it is amazing,

1st, the voice commands. Yes, you can go through all those commands to change temp or fan speed. But you can also just press the fan speed or temp buttons on the console too. You can also make changes to the climate system with the d-pad on the steering wheel or through the MFT. If fact, just about every command you give with your voice, you can accomplish the same thing with hard controls. Since I've owned the car, I've found there are some functions that are easier with hard controls and some that are easier with voice commands. The point is, you have options you just don't have with other cars in this price range.

2nd - the gage thing. I've been on this forum for five months now and I've only seen one guy with this instrument gage problem and two others who have completely lost their MFT. If your looking for a new, completely redesigned car with cutting edge features that doesn't have some warranty issues with a few of their cars, your going to be looking a long time. Look at Toyota, for years the most reliable car on the road. Even they have had warranty issues.

I don't have the wind noise issue, it doesn't "clunk" when it shifts and I think the fuel door rocks. If your worried about someone stealing your gas, look closer, the system has anti-siphon control.

I have to say, I haven't found a cell phone that works with all the advertised features of MyFord Touch. However, I have a Droid X and the Bluetooth works great, voice commands for the phone are flawless, phonebook system is very good and media streaming is awesome. I wish it worked with text messaging and the contact photos uploaded, but those are pretty minor.

It sounds like you've made your mind up, so I won't try and convince you further. However, do me a favor. Once you find your replacement for the Edge, reply to this post and let me know what it is. I want to know if there is a car out there that meets your standard.

  3. :shift: We have all posted various incompatibility problems with various phones.

So, I want to know is, what phone do I need to buy that works with all the great features of MyFord Touch?

    Specifically:

    - No pairing problems

    - Streams media (like Pandora) to the stereo

    - No phonebook problems

    - Uploads contact photos from the phonebook

    - Works with the messaging systems

    etc.

I have discussed (chat) this with a Sync rep and they stated they are working on a list of such phones, but

that list isn't available yet. They couldn't even give me an example of one phone they were sure worked.

I have a Droid X (2.2 OS). It pairs great, voice commands work great and it streams media very well.

However, I can't get the messaging system to work and I can't upload photos from my contacts.

If anyone out there has a phone that does it all, I need to know. Because, I'm going to go buy it.

  4. Thinline is correct.

Here is the section from the owners manual about this:

    Four-wheel anti-lock brake system (ABS)

Your vehicle is equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS). This

system helps you maintain steering control during emergency stops by

keeping the brakes from locking. Noise from the ABS pump motor and

brake pedal pulsation may be observed during ABS braking and the

brake pedal may suddenly travel a little farther as soon as ABS braking is

done and normal brake operation resumes. These are normal

characteristics of the ABS and should be no reason for concern.

  5. Same with my Edge. I'm still waiting on Ford. When I went in to the dealer they got a reply from Ford that it is NOT a Sirius problem. I believe this as it work great in my F-150

Ford issued a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) that addressed this issue and others on Jan 10th. It directs the procedures for a "full flash reprogramming." Sorry, I can't find the TSB number, but I'm sure it was issued on Jan 10th. After my dealer performed this, my Sirius Travel Link worked fine.

  6. Just picked up my 2011 Edge Limited up from the dealership after they performed the latest Sync software upgrade. I've been through every menu and command I can think of. Everything is working great! Yeah!

The upgrade fixed the Sirius Travel Link Service, which has never worked for me. I now have all of the services and they are awesome. I touch the "Fuel Prices" tab and it sorts all of the fuel prices in my area by lowest price. I pick the station I want and it sets that station as the destination in navigation. So cool, just like the commercial! The weather, movie listing and ski conditions are cool too. Yeah!!!! Very happy

  8. I have a 2011 Edge that has been to the dealership three times already for wind/whistling noise (sounds like the window is cracked open) coming from the driver window area. Dealer has replaced weather stripping twice already and stated the door is aligned properly. This noise always occurs around 50+ mph, and occasionally at 40+ mph. I live in Michigan and could this be caused by the cold weather affecting the weather strips? Anyone else experiencing this problem? The noise is loud enough to be noticied over the radio.

Ford has told me to go to another dealership to get a second opinion, but between this wind noise issue and My Ford Touch problems my car has been at the dealership more than it has on the road.

Passenger side does not have this problem.

    Any thoughts?

I had this problem on a truck. The dealership didn't have a clue. I read a forum entry that suggested taking it to a body shop. I took it to the best body shop I could find. Turns out the door was actually bent out just slightly at the top. The body shop said it was pretty common. They actually bent it back to form and I never had the problem again. I think they charged $50.00.

  9. is the sirius travel link only available with nav installed? I'm not sure i have ever seen that on my system.

Yes, it works with the nav system. For example, you can select "Fuel Prices." The system will show you a list of fuel prices at service stations close to you. You can then select the price you want, touch the corresponding service station name and it will set that station as a destination and navagate you there. Same for movie theater show times and ski conditions.

At least that's what its supposed to do. Mine has never worked. Again, this update is supposed to be the fix. I have an appointment on Tuesday next week to have the upgrade.

  10. Can anyone tell me if the updates have fixed Sirus Travel Link Services?

Five of the eight listed services are showing "unsubscribed" on my screen (showtimes, weather etc). We have spent many hours with Ford and Sirius trying to fix this (trust me every simple solution has been explored). There are many others with this same problem. We have been told this upgrade will fix the problem.

Did anyone have this problem before the upgrade and now it is fixed?

  11. I think the problem with all of the reviews I've read is they are all based on a "test drive" of some form. They use the car for a certain period of time then move on. You can tell from some of their comments they never really used the car for any length of time and therefore never really experienced all it can do.

The MyFord / MyLincoln systems are meant for a vehicle "owner." The more you use it, the simpler and more intuitive it becomes. After a week or two of driving, you can do way more without taking your hands from the wheel or eyes from the road than any other vehicle on the market.

The comment about the radio display being distracting is an obvious example of this. There is no other system I know of that lets you tune to a station by just speaking the station name. Or, you can use the steering wheel controls or the hard buttons or the MFT. The reviewers have never seen these kinds of options before and, based on their comments, I suspect were not even aware of all of them when they wrote their articles.

The only control related issue I have with the system is I'd like a hard button for the seat warmers. The MFT buttons are OK, but I personally would like a hard button as well.

  12. revOevoM or JusDaFax

I'm curious to hear if either of you got your Travel Link features to work.

Since there are only 8 days left in November, the mid-November fix seems unlikely.

    Thanks!

    Luvford

Mine still isn't fixed. Ford used to call me once a week to tell me they had nothing to tell me. Now, I don't even get that call. I'm starting to worry that Ford is never going to fix this.

  13. Just a bit of advice to all awaiting their new 2011 Edges and MKX' ---- be grateful for the wait.

I know that sounds weird, but there are a number of issues (most very minor, a couple very major) with the MyFord Touch system (MyLincoln Touch for you high-faluten' types) and a sync update that fixes most of them is supposedly imminent. Trust us, you'll be much happier without having to deal with the little glitches this update is supposedly going to fix.

  14. First off - I love my 2011 Ford Edge. It is a wonderful car on many levels and dispite issues I've had with it, I would buy it again. I love tech stuff and often buy new technology. I've learned while it's fun and cool to have the newest stuff, it often means I’m a guinea pig for trouble-shooting issues.

That said "over the edge" has brought up an interesting issue, that is similar the problem I'm having with Sirius Travel Link (still) not working.

That is, we have a problem that most 2011 Edge owners are not having, but Ford still can't/won't fix it. Just like me, "Over the edge" is being told Ford is aware of the problem and are working on a software update. Also, the dealership is told by Ford not to attempt any further repairs. This is very frustrating. If most 2011 Edge's are not having this problem, why can't Ford just gimme what everybody else has?

I posed this question at a Sync technical specialist in the Customer Relations department. His response was: The problem is in the software and exists in all of the vehicles. They frankly don't know why some 2011 Edges are working and others are not. He said it would be useless to re-load the software in my Edge because they don't know if it would work or not. He described all of the Edges that are not having the problem as "ticking time bombs" that could develop the problem at any time. He actually said this. I think he's making stuff up just to have something to say. That just can't be right.

Whatever the answer, if Ford wants to lead the industry in this new way drivers interact with their cars, it's clear they are going to have to improve their method for handling tech related problems.

  15. Travel Link is still not working on my 2011 Edge.

The last word I got from Ford Customer Relations was they were working on a software patch that should be availble in mid-November. I called today to check the status. I left a voice message. We'll see what they say if/when they call me back.

BTW - my plate is KUTNEDG

  16. Just an update to all who still are having Easy Entry or Memory seat programming issues.

We were unable to program our memory seats either with or w/o the fob. I followed all the instructions

AND also the tips I learned in this forum. I brought my Edge

in today to the dealer. After actually trying to re-program the Driver's Seat computer program they finally

gave up and ordered a whole new computer module for it.

So for those of you that continue to have problems you may need a new module for the Driver's Seat.

BUT...I STILL LOVE MY EDGE!!!! :yup:

Do not do step #4 in the programming process described in the owners manual!!!!

The manual gives the following instructions:

Programming the memory feature to the transmitter

    To activate this feature:

    1. Move the driver seat and power mirrors to the desired positions using

    the associated controls.

    2. Press and hold button 1 for five

seconds. A tone will be heard after

    about two seconds confirming

    memory position has been set.

Continue to hold until a second tone

    is heard after five seconds.

    3. Within three seconds press "icon for lock th door".

    4. Press "icon for unlock" <---------- Do not do this!!!!!!! It actually clears the programing you just entered. Wait at least 20 seconds before you press unlock!.

    5. Repeat this procedure for memory 2 and another transmitter if

    desired.

Now when my wife presses unlock on her IA key, the seats and mirrors automatically move to her position and when I press unlock on mine, they change to my positions and I don't have to have my knees hitting he in the chest. Yeah!!

  17. Today I was on the phone with Sirius trying to get my travel link subscription enable... 1 hour on the phone... FAIL! :redcard:

Has anyone gotten this issue resolved? Sirius says to contact the dealer... the dealer says to contact Sirius. WTF

Anyway while I was sitting in my driveway playing with Sirius and messing around with the center touchscreen I came across a button that says calendar. So I clicked on it. It said today was June 11, 2030. Who knew my Edge was also a time machine and the fountain of youth since I still looked the same. :hysterical: I tried to update it... but according to the "manual" the date is set by GPS.

Has anyone else played with the calendar? Is the date correct?

Not that either of these things are going to prevent me from enjoying my car... just curious.

You may want to check out my previous topics:

"Sirius Travel Link not working" and "Sirius Travel Link Still not working" There is another topic just like these on the syncmyride forum. We are not alone.

I have been dealing with this for over a month now. Ford customer relations last weekly update stated Ford engineers were working on a software patch that should be out by "mid November" That estimate has grown from tomorrow to next week to by the end of Oct to mid November. I'm getting very frustrated.

BTW - I checked my calendar and the date was correct.

  18. If it's software they won't release the patch until some testing is complete, which can take a while then they need to get all the approvals, etc. Unfortunately one of the drawbacks to a brand new system :(

If every 2011 Edge was having this problem, I could accept that answer. However, most are not.

Why do you need to create a software patch when you have systems out there that are working? Why won't they just reprogram my unit with a software version they know works?

I'm not convinced this is a software issue at all.

I hope someone at Ford is actually working this issue and it hasn't been pushed to a back burner because they see it as a low priority.

  19. I tried to use the gas price gadget the other day only to find out that all those special features are unsubscribed on my Edge. I've contacted my dealer and they are looking into it.

Has anybody gotten this resolved yet? I'd be interested to know what steps to take.

I first reported this on Sep 21st. The dealership couldn't fix it and escalated the issue to Ford. I was told Ford Engineers would have something the next week.

I took it back the next week and they said they still didn't have a fix, but Ford engineers were working on it. I should have an answer within a couple of days.

So, I called a few days later and they said Ford was working on a software "patch" and should have a fix by the end of Oct.

I got a call today from Ford Customer Service. They said engineers are working on a software update and should have something by mid-November. My local dealer sayes they have been told by Ford not to try any other fixes at this time.

None of this makes any sense to me. If its a software issue, why don't they just reload all the correct programs? If it is a hardware issue, why don't they just replace the units that are not working? I am getting very frustrated.

  20. I've had my MKX for almost a month. Absolutely love it. Pretty much everything works as advertised. I can stream audio from my Blackberry including Pandora (but no corresponding Sync App) over Bluetooth. Voice commands work somewhat inconsistently, but better than most. Air conditioned seats are simply awesome. MyLincoln Touch system is incredible, and will be less dangerous after I learn how to use it :-)... The rearview camera and reverse sensing system is spot on - I can back into my garage without even turning my head. SelectShift transmission enables rocket mode - pretty impressive AWD launch for such a heavy vehicle. THX + HD Radio sounds great.

    A couple quirks/questions:

    •
    • I cannot get the key fobs programmed to move to the driver 1 or 2 positions accordingly - even followed the steps in the manual for the Intelligent Access Memory feature (seat, mirrors and steering column). Anyone else have problems with this or did it just work? The dealer was clueless and the service tech had never even seen the '11 key fobs, so I'm scared to send it to service just for this...
    • The promo videos for the Touch system illustrated a built in web browser listed in the Sync Apps - where is it or how do I get it? Note I did get the system to connect to my wireless access point and in turn act as a wireless hotspot that I could connect to with my laptop - but to have a web browser built in would be very cool and useful to access sans a laptop...Promos also showed Pandora and Twitter Sync Apps - where are they???
    • If you turn on heated seats and turn off/exit the vehicle the heated seats don't turn on automagically when you re-enter/restart the vehicle, however the heated steering wheel does turn on automagically...
    • Yellow BLIS light is a bit difficult to see in daylight.
    • If I can connect to my own wireless access point, why can't Ford enable automated updates of Sync over the web just like they do on the assembly line?
    • The hazard light button is positioned poorly. It's right in the center of the console under the Touch screen, where people tend to rest their hand and inadvertently turn them on. I had to pull over to figure out how/where the hazard light button was...

If anyone has had success with the key fob memory feature, please share your experience.

Do not do step #4 in the programming process described in the owners manual!!!!

  22. I've had my new Edge Limited (302A package) for two weeks. I LOVE IT!!!!. I took it on a trip this weekend up Independene pass in Colorado to see the aspens fall colors. The height of the pass is over 12,000 feet. The Edge was fantastic.

However, the Sirisu Travel Link is STILL not working. We're supposed to have a six month free trail to all the Sirius services. My Sirius radio and traffic work fine, but all the Travel Link features do not work at all. These are the Fuel Prices, Weather, Sports and Movie Times. When I check the subscriptions, all the Travel Link services read "unsubscribed"

I've reported it to Ford and Sirius. They all agree the services should be working. I brought it back to the dealer and they couldn't get it to work either. They gave me the car back and said their have reported it to Ford engineers who were supposed to get back with me this week. So far nothing. I've heard others have reported this problem too. Has anyone had this problem and gotten it fixed? How?
