  1. Just a thought, what is your MyTemp set to? Below is the MyTemp section of the owners manual. MyTemp: Touch and hold to save the desired temperature for MyTemp. To access this setting again, simply touch the indicator. The MyTemp feature can be used to store and recall a preset driver’s temperature. This feature is provided so this temperature can be quickly adjusted to a frequently used setting with a single button touch. To save a new preset temperature for the active user, manually adjust the driver’s temperature to the desired value then touch and hold the MyTemp button for at least two seconds. Any subsequent touch of the MyTemp button will automatically change to this set temperature for this user. The preset temperature can be saved for each user via a personal computer and transferred to the vehicle via a USB device. Refer to Creating a user profile in the Entertainment Systems chapter for more information.
  2. dkor, You have a bad case of forum fever. :fan: By reading all these posts and fixating on the problems a few people have had, you've lost perspective. You also do not understand the basics of how the vehicle works. I have a 2011 Ford Edge Limited AWD with the 302A package and I can tell you, it is amazing, 1st, the voice commands. Yes, you can go through all those commands to change temp or fan speed. But you can also just press the fan speed or temp buttons on the console too. You can also make changes to the climate system with the d-pad on the steering wheel or through the MFT. If fact, just about every command you give with your voice, you can accomplish the same thing with hard controls. Since I've owned the car, I've found there are some functions that are easier with hard controls and some that are easier with voice commands. The point is, you have options you just don't have with other cars in this price range. 2nd - the gage thing. I've been on this forum for five months now and I've only seen one guy with this instrument gage problem and two others who have completely lost their MFT. If your looking for a new, completely redesigned car with cutting edge features that doesn't have some warranty issues with a few of their cars, your going to be looking a long time. Look at Toyota, for years the most reliable car on the road. Even they have had warranty issues. I don't have the wind noise issue, it doesn't "clunk" when it shifts and I think the fuel door rocks. If your worried about someone stealing your gas, look closer, the system has anti-siphon control. I have to say, I haven't found a cell phone that works with all the advertised features of MyFord Touch. However, I have a Droid X and the Bluetooth works great, voice commands for the phone are flawless, phonebook system is very good and media streaming is awesome. I wish it worked with text messaging and the contact photos uploaded, but those are pretty minor. It sounds like you've made your mind up, so I won't try and convince you further. However, do me a favor. Once you find your replacement for the Edge, reply to this post and let me know what it is. I want to know if there is a car out there that meets your standard.
  3. We have all posted various incompatibility problems with various phones. So, I want to know is, what phone do I need to buy that works with all the great features of MyFord Touch? Specifically: - No pairing problems - Streams media (like Pandora) to the stereo - No phonebook problems - Uploads contact photos from the phonebook - Works with the messaging systems etc. I have discussed (chat) this with a Sync rep and they stated they are working on a list of such phones, but that list isn't available yet. They couldn't even give me an example of one phone they were sure worked. I have a Droid X (2.2 OS). It pairs great, voice commands work great and it streams media very well. However, I can't get the messaging system to work and I can't upload photos from my contacts. If anyone out there has a phone that does it all, I need to know. Because, I'm going to go buy it.
  4. Thinline is correct. Here is the section from the owners manual about this: Four-wheel anti-lock brake system (ABS) Your vehicle is equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS). This system helps you maintain steering control during emergency stops by keeping the brakes from locking. Noise from the ABS pump motor and brake pedal pulsation may be observed during ABS braking and the brake pedal may suddenly travel a little farther as soon as ABS braking is done and normal brake operation resumes. These are normal characteristics of the ABS and should be no reason for concern.
  5. Ford issued a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) that addressed this issue and others on Jan 10th. It directs the procedures for a "full flash reprogramming." Sorry, I can't find the TSB number, but I'm sure it was issued on Jan 10th. After my dealer performed this, my Sirius Travel Link worked fine.
  6. I had the upgrade performed last week and I'm very happy to report, Sirius Travel Link is now working perfectly. Yeah!!! I've gone through all of the menus ans sub-menus and everything else appears to be working too. Yeah Hoo!
  7. Just picked up my 2011 Edge Limited up from the dealership after they performed the latest Sync software upgrade. I've been through every menu and command I can think of. Everything is working great! Yeah! The upgrade fixed the Sirius Travel Link Service, which has never worked for me. I now have all of the services and they are awesome. I touch the "Fuel Prices" tab and it sorts all of the fuel prices in my area by lowest price. I pick the station I want and it sets that station as the destination in navigation. So cool, just like the commercial! The weather, movie listing and ski conditions are cool too. Yeah!!!! Very happy :banvictory: :elefant: :party2:

  9. I had this problem on a truck. The dealership didn't have a clue. I read a forum entry that suggested taking it to a body shop. I took it to the best body shop I could find. Turns out the door was actually bent out just slightly at the top. The body shop said it was pretty common. They actually bent it back to form and I never had the problem again. I think they charged $50.00.
  10. Yes, it works with the nav system. For example, you can select "Fuel Prices." The system will show you a list of fuel prices at service stations close to you. You can then select the price you want, touch the corresponding service station name and it will set that station as a destination and navagate you there. Same for movie theater show times and ski conditions. At least that's what its supposed to do. Mine has never worked. Again, this update is supposed to be the fix. I have an appointment on Tuesday next week to have the upgrade.
  11. Can anyone tell me if the updates have fixed Sirus Travel Link Services? Five of the eight listed services are showing "unsubscribed" on my screen (showtimes, weather etc). We have spent many hours with Ford and Sirius trying to fix this (trust me every simple solution has been explored). There are many others with this same problem. We have been told this upgrade will fix the problem. Did anyone have this problem before the upgrade and now it is fixed?
  12. I think the problem with all of the reviews I've read is they are all based on a "test drive" of some form. They use the car for a certain period of time then move on. You can tell from some of their comments they never really used the car for any length of time and therefore never really experienced all it can do. The MyFord / MyLincoln systems are meant for a vehicle "owner." The more you use it, the simpler and more intuitive it becomes. After a week or two of driving, you can do way more without taking your hands from the wheel or eyes from the road than any other vehicle on the market. The comment about the radio display being distracting is an obvious example of this. There is no other system I know of that lets you tune to a station by just speaking the station name. Or, you can use the steering wheel controls or the hard buttons or the MFT. The reviewers have never seen these kinds of options before and, based on their comments, I suspect were not even aware of all of them when they wrote their articles. The only control related issue I have with the system is I'd like a hard button for the seat warmers. The MFT buttons are OK, but I personally would like a hard button as well.
  13. I've had my Edge Limited for 3 months now and the adaptive cruise is one of my favorite features. It works perfectly and makes highway driving sooooo much easier.
  14. Mine still isn't fixed. Ford used to call me once a week to tell me they had nothing to tell me. Now, I don't even get that call. I'm starting to worry that Ford is never going to fix this.
  15. Just a bit of advice to all awaiting their new 2011 Edges and MKX' ---- be grateful for the wait. I know that sounds weird, but there are a number of issues (most very minor, a couple very major) with the MyFord Touch system (MyLincoln Touch for you high-faluten' types) and a sync update that fixes most of them is supposedly imminent. Trust us, you'll be much happier without having to deal with the little glitches this update is supposedly going to fix. KUTNEDG
