  1. Happened to me once as well. I'm surprised that it would be a Catalytic Converter???????????? That makes zero sense.... The good news is that it will store it in the PCM. Get it checked if it is stalling out when you're driving... No big deal somebody said. That makes even less sense than the damn catalytic converter diagnosis! if you stall doing 100 + km/hr, you rlife is on the line.... Lets hope there is a fix for this as I don't want it happening again
  2. Hi There, I've had my 2011 Edge Sport now for about 7 months and have only had time to tack on about 3,500 kms due to my work load.... When the hell should I take it in for maintenance?????????????? Oil life is still good. Maybe I should just sell it as I really don't have the time to drive it. I paid $55,000 CDN new w/ all my packages + an extended warranty (6 yrs or 120 000). Thanks
  3. Return it? Easier said than done. I have had it since October 2010. Care to elaborate?
  4. For whatever reason, I am now getting 319 kms to a full tank..... I'm lost as I was getting 500 initially. The odometer reads 1900 kms at this point in time. Anyone else in the same boat? I contacted a dealership and they advised me that they could do a fuel/mileage analysis on the vehicle but that it would cost me $100 if it came back negative. WTF? It's showing 30 + litres per 100 kms on my instrument panel. Is that not proof enough? I spent $45,000 CDN on this vehicle w/ an extended warranty and they are nickel and diming me off the hop? I have heard that it sometimes takes between 10 000 - 15 000 kms to obtain ideal mileage, but this is ridiculous. I did have an issue with my vehicle stalling a while back and an odd smell coming from the exhaust. Also, I have winters on without sensors and the vehicle is not "sensing" this all the time. Every now and again it shows an error code, but it is definitely intermittent. Call me crazy, but shouldn't it be detecting this every waking moment?????????????????? I'm beginning to wonder if I have some sort of electrical problem going on. Who knows, maybe my O2 sensor is pooched already, but the damn vehicle doesn't have enough "sense" to throw a code. Any thoughts, advice, familiarity, etc is appreciated! Thanks, Chris
  5. Back in October of 2010, I Scored my 2011 Ford Edge Sport w/ Canadian Touring package for $45000 TAX IN with an extended warranty (6 yrs or 120 000 KMS) I offered them 3% on dealer invoice. It took me about 10 crooks + dealerships later, but it was well worth the work! Saved a ton of cash.
  6. Ughh... Before it stalled there was a notification sound of sorts, so I automatically looked at the instrument panel to notice a message -- " low oil pressure." The CEL came on; THEN it stalled. This didn't appear after it stalled. Hopefully it did store something in the PCM they they may be able to retrieve. I'm getting it checked on Saturday, so thanks for the heads up, despite you thinking I'm some kind of hack. LOL It could very well have been an isoloted incident, as pointed out by akirby, as I used to own a Lexus that did something like this the day we sold it! Luckily, they still bought it~! Thx for chiming in guys.
  7. Not even an idea from anyone??????????????????
  8. Something very peculiar happened about 30 minutes ago....I was backing up into my driveway and the vehicle stalled in the middle of the street. I looked at my instrument panel and observed "low oil pressure" + the "check engine light" was on. I tried to start it multiple times and though it would start, it would stall immediately thereafter.... I took the key out and tried all over again without any issues. It fired up and I parked the vehicle. It was idling fine without any warnings on the instrument panel. ???????????????????????????????????????????? I suppose I'm hoping that this is not an isolated incident and that maybe someone else has been through it and has had the problem fixed? Has anyone had this issue or something similar? There's really no point in taking it in if it is an intermittent problem...I mean, if the vehicle is acting ok and everything is fine if I bring it in, it will be a trip to the dealership for nothing... Any suggestions? This 2011 Edge Sport only has 1400 kms on it....I purchased it back in October and received it sometime in late November...I haven't driven it much at all, so this is really bothering me. I mean, if it was a daily driver, what would I be dealing with? Know what I mean?
  9. Exactly. Mine almost goes away altogether. My question is: What makes this ticking noise "normal?" Thanks for digging up the dirt! Nice job!
  10. I am in agreement. It never hurts to get her checked with respect to the ticking sound. With regard to the vibration issue, I have had 2 sets of tires & rims installed and there is no difference. I'm not sure what to think, but I suppose it is time to bring her in. Thx for the feedback
  11. Thx for the feedback! Decided to go with a 17 inch steelie gig! Miss the handling, but I wont have to deal with taking care of the rims in this crazy winter weather !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. I love my Edge, but there is this strange ticking sound when I start it up. After I drive it for a while, it disappears. Doesn't matter what the temp is outside. This can't be normal? There is also a bit of a vibration in the steering wheel when driving at higher speeds. I suppose I should take it in to get checked, but I figured someone out here may have already been through this and may be able to provide some good advice and/or info surrounding it all. Thanks, Chris
