I got my winter wheels and tires from the Rack and they have stood up well for the last 5 years. I went with Blizzaks. I use an 18" wheel for my winters and 20" are my stock ones.

Any ideas how to get zinc based sunscreen out of black leather!?!?!
Yikes! I'm thinking an APC (all purpose cleaner) like Zep Citrus cut to 4:1 (water:product) along with a microfiber. Do NOT use a magic eraser on your leather. Follow that up with a microfiber soaked in either Optimum No Rinse or water that is well wrung out. Then dry it with another mf.
Leather is porous and hopefully the zinc didn't re-dye that section. Ultima's Interior Guard is a great product for leather and plastic protection.

What's the best coating for the windshield?
(Rainx only lasts 30 days or until you use the wipers, whichever comes first.)
FlyByForte is a product Richy uses for the windshield, but he may have updated recommendations, as new products get introduced all the time. The rest of the glass ... CQuartz Finest.
I do still recommend CarPro's FlyByForte. What I like about it is that you do the blades as well. The key with any windshield coating is to thoroughly clean the glass prior to application. Be aggressive with the cleaning, not just window cleaner. Use a clay bar or a magic eraser with glass cleaner or steel wool dry to get the glass as clean and defect free as possible. Another product that does work well on glass, just not for a long time is Optimum Opti Seal. It absolutely rocks on paint and wheels and trim too, so it's a great product to have on hand.

I really hope they've improved it with the new design!

Awesome! I'm assuming you ran the grease along all 5 rails that you cleaned? Thanks again for taking the time to do the video!

I'd really like to see the video too to know where to put it. I already have some of that grease for my old motorcycle.

There's lots of roads that lead to Rome. I use completely different products but as long as you're happy with them, that's all that matters.

We are driving to Myrtle Beach tomorrow and my L Amber turn signal/DRL burned out. I got a replacement and decided to do it myself. Unfortunately there isn't a good video tutorial on YT which is how I often learn how to do stuff. One website I did find (and I seem to reading this elsewhere too) was that it had to be accessed via the front wheel well. I did loosen it but I could not remove it from the socket due to being blocked from behind. I was able to remove it and change the bulb from inside the hood. It took quite a while of fiddling and swearing to get the new one in. I HATE THAT DESIGN!!!

Richy: Do you keep the engine running when you detail it?
Nope, nor do I start it afterward.

Once you've moved the seat as far back as you can with the electric switch, then push downward on the switch to lower the seat. You will find that as it lowers, it will go back further too.

The HK Revel system sounds interesting.

I've had both and prefer the charcoal. Maybe it's just marketing? I don't know. I'll probably keep buying the charcoal from Rock Auto or somewhere similar. Not really a whole lot more $.

I've washed mine on my MKX a few times. Power wash gently and then spray Zep purple degreaser and agitate. Power wash rinse thoroughly. Dry with a leaf blower. Dress the plastic for the win.

I still like the idea of using a charcoal one.

amature ... and negatory on the air bags (more on that in a bit).
the dent over on the right headlight was the where bambi's head got thunk'd. The butt end was pretty much at the drivers' side light/grill seam. Impact was about 40 mph at full braking. She appeared out of my left "A" pillar and my first view of her was ~15' in front of me running left to right. Didn't make obviously.
Final bill, was bucks shy of $10,000.00.
Now, about those air bags, if you look closely at the picture you'll see two diagonal cross members going up towards the center of the hood. The airbag sensors are mounted midway up those on the face. The impact broke both lose from their mounts and then severed the wires on the drives side one preventing the bags from going off or shorted out the module that was supposed to trigger the bags. Don't know which came first. I asked the mechanic to clarify this for me, I impacted a large object dead (pun intended) center, which broke both sensors off and yanked the wire harness from the other and shorted that against the frame (ground) which either prevented them from deploying or shorted out the airbag module preventing deployment. Does anyone else see a problem here. Just about ANY frontal impact could do the kind of damage I saw and the airbags didn't deploy ??? WHEN WOULD THEY DEPLOY ??? I'm glad they didn't as that would have not been an enjoyable experience (less so than what the deer went thru) but still.
Good luck on your repairs .. hope you don't have the follow ups I had to get things corrected that were missed the first pass thru.
I think you may have stumbled across a real issue. I would strongly suggest you write or call. NHTSA. This might be recall material.

For my MKX with 20" wheels, I have 18" winter wheels + Blizzaks. Works great. Tirerack confirmed the fit. I got mine from Belle Tire in Dertoit.

Amen to that brother!

Thanks. I'll be checking out where to get them in the Detroit area as well.

So from the research I've done on here it seems to be a good idea to go with the Hawk HPS pads. I'm wondering also which rotor would be the best match for those pads?

Collinite metal polish is the cat's pyjamas and will make them look brand new. It is a cleaner and a protectant.

If you guys truly want THE VERY BEST trim coating (not simply a dressing) then you need to get CarPro DLux. It will last at least a year if not longer and will darken the trim too. It is worth every penny!

Interesting. No video for Lincoln, but the 14 Edge one shows how to lower it from opening larger. I need the opposite. I think I'm SOL.

If the dealer isn't helping you b/c it did not act up for them, I'd video it on your phone when it happens so you have proof.
