  1. Hi everyone I just purchased a used 2008 edge. The driver seat seems to be a bit loose. When you accellerate the seat feels like it tips back a bit. Has anyone had this issue and know the fix?

I have a 2011 Edge Limited and mine does the same thing. Have taken it to the dealer and everything is tight. I have read that this is a Ford "thing'........

  2. I have had three Subaru Outbacks in the past,97,00 and a 2010. I totaled the 2010 Subaru after owning it for five months and could not make a deal on a new one. Test drove the Edge and was very impressed on how it handled. Gas milage was better with the 2.5 engine on the Subaru 29 mpg. I am getting 23 so far on my Edge Limited AWD. As for the AWD it is just like the Subaru. I live in Syracuse NY and we get lots of snow. It drives great on the 18" tires that came on the vehicle. I also like the added room inside. Both are nice cars but I would go for the edge just for all of the fun toys that come with it. I am very happy with the Sync system and Navigation along with the sound system. Good luck to you.............

  3. When I can't wash it myself and it needs washing badly, I take BluEdge to a local handwash. Been taking my cars there for years - they do a great job. First come, first serve. Line up for exterior and/or interior wash.

I got there yesterday morning and pulled in behind a brand new 2011 Explorer. First one I've seen on the road. Still had a dealer tag. I go inside to wait. Soon, one of the detail guys tells the auto spa owner that they had inadvertantly locked the Explorer while washing it. (Remember, press 7/8 + 9/0 simutaneously?) The owner was informed; he went to the car, but it was obvious he didn't either 1) know the factory default code or 2) set his own code. His key was inside (not sure if it was Intelligent or not). So, there's BluEdge behind the dead Explorer unable to move up to get washed and plenty of cars now behind it. :banghead:

The carwash owner takes off with the Explorer owner to get a second key. Meanwhile, one-by-one starting with mine, cars were shuffled in front of the Explorer so they can get washed without too much holdup. I left before the guys got back.

I was gonna ask the guy why doesn't he call Ford support (not sure if he would've gotten a response on Saturday, anyway). The dealer was a couple miles up the street (I could tell by the tag). Wonder if they would've told him the factory default.

So, let this be a lesson to ya! Set - and remember - your code! :redcard:

edit: Isn't Ford supposed to implement unlocking thru Sync support at some point? Like OnStar? Not sure how this Explorer was equipped, but sure would've made things easier.

  4. I have had my 2011 Edge Limited for just about a month and I must say I am very impressed with the Navigation system. I have owned a 2007 BMW X3 and a 2008 BMW X5 with Navigation and ford is by far superior. Better graphics, easy to use, along with more choses in the way you can view the screen and directions. I have used the navigation by voice and by touch screen and was very easy to do. My only complaint is that the SD card maps are not up to date and at this time there are no current updates available. The street that I live on is three years old and is not on the map. My portable GPS is two years old and has my street listed. All in all a great Navigation system.

  5. I paid $1165. which included the extra $90. for a rental car at the time you bring your car in for service, not having to wait, not the normal wait in finding out what is broken on the vehicle before they give you a rental. My extended Warrenty was for 6/100,000. I was able to find the lower prices on the internet brought to the dealer and after asking the dealer "maybe I can buy this vehicle at a lower price on the internet too" I was given the price I found on the internet. And YES this is a Ford top of the line Extended Warrenty.
