Got my car back last week and it works! It actually works! Actually, I take that back. Everything but the usb port works. I can stream bluetooth audio. I can plug in my ipod via av/in. Navigation is working. Sync is working faster and better than ever. Some features that I didn't even know weren't working (the tag feature) are back on track. The only thing I can't figure out is how to watch video. I plug in my iphone and try to watch youtube videos via the av/in and can't seem to get it to work..even in park. Anyone know anything about that? Thanks!

Just picked up my car from the dealer. They were unsuccessful with the update. It kept crashing. I have to bring it in next week. More things are NOT working from when I dropped it off. No heat. No music. No phone. I am at the end of my rope. I'm tempted to tie a noose in it and slip it over my head! (Obvious exaggeration.) But seriously, this is ridiculous, I'm thinking I might start looking for new cars and talking to a lawyer about the lemon law. But I don't even want a new car! I want my Lincoln MKX!

My dealership is also having issues downloading the update. So obviously not just a problem at one dealership. Also, I don't understand why some people are being nasty to pinkedge. If she's having issues--she's having issues! Why are you taking it personally? Did you make the car??

Here is the latest I got from the dealership:

Hi again- we've tried 4 times so far today to download the sync info- if we can -can we keep the car again overnight and we will continue trying to download the info for the my touch?

My car is in the shop today because an update finally came in. Just got an e-mail from them saying:

we are still working on programming your car, we have tried the download from the ford/microsoft server 5 times today and each time the server has crashed mid download- we contacted them and they are having major IT problems and hope to have it resolved by mid day tommorrow-.

Hopefully, it ends up working. They've been great to get me a free rental car every time.

My car has been in the shop 3 times now. They don't know what is wrong with it. So, that's awesome. Navigation still reads fault. The usb card isn't being detected. The blue tooth audio stream isn't working. Super frustrated. The dealer says there aren't any updates yet--so I don't know if it is a software issue or if it is the unit itself. Sure would be nice to have some answers.

I think I read somewhere on this forum that someone had this problem. I haven't so far; but I sometimes get a picture of the previous place I backed out of; but just for a second and then it disappears.

I've had the scroll problem and the previous place pic. My car is in the shop as we speak--I'll let you know if they figure it out!

I took possession of my 2011 MKX last Saturday and have had some issues. My navigation and ipod hook up weren't working due to it still being in transportation mode. That part is fixed but I am still having sporadic issues. The usb is saying it isn't plugged in sometimes when it is...and navigation fault is popping up frequently as well. Super frustrating this early in the game. Anyone else having issues or does your system work perfectly? I'm hoping there is something wrong with the unit itself and getting it replaced will fix the issue. TIA!

Really? Shouldn't that have been done before that sent me the car? I guess I will go try to figure out how to do that. Thanks!

Congrats on your MKX! What colour did you get? I've got a black/black on order and am hoping to have it by mid November. I read somewhere on here about an SD Nav problem. I think what happened is the guy ended up getting a new SD card and that fixed it. I'm sorry I don't remember where the post was, I've been all over this site! I am purchasing an extended warranty that covers all the electronics for 7 years. I want that piece of mind. I had a hard time figuring out how to access the menus with the steering wheel buttons on the test drive, they didn't seem intuitive to me...and I'm pretty good at figuring out electronic things. I have read the manuals online a few times to try to make the transition easier. I hope your troubles end soon and you can concentrate on driving down the road with an amazing tune on the radio in a comfortable environment!!

Thanks! I ended up getting the pearly white--white the tan interior/gray piping. All of the buttons/tech take some getting used to. But it's just like a new phone--gotta play around with it and then it is second nature!

Some people have had problems with the SD card that re-seating it (popping it out and back in again) have fixed. Others had to get new cards from the dealer. You might want to try re-seating it and see if it works.

 

If it doesn't then try another SD card with some music files and see if it can read that card. If it does then it's probably the SD card and not a problem with the reader itself. If it can't read the music files, then it might be a bad SD card reader.

 

Basically, with either a bad SD card or a bad reader you would have to contact your dealer to get fixed. If it's just the SD card, it's a much easier fix that won't mean you lose your MKX while it's in the shop.

This is why you don't have to worry..updates will come for sure. I am waiting for my sport 2011 and pretty sure i will be having issues like everyone..fixes will come. They have to come or this will crash Ford's market big time..

The navigation is SD card based not DVD

der. that's what I meant. The card is reading faulty.

just got my new 2011 lincoln mkx yesterday. had some issues with the navigation card not reading...iphone not hooking up...and some issues with the buttons on the steering wheel not working 100%. It is pretty though! Got white with tan interior with dark piping. I'm not used to it quite yet...and am a little scared about changing lanes with the headrests being so high. We'll see!

I love this car. It is beautiful. It's the first car I've ever purchased on my own. But it was delivered on Saturday and I'm already having problems with it. They dvd navigation says it is reading fault. It doesn't let me connect my iphone. Some of the buttons on the wheel don't let me scroll through options--but keep going back to the same screen. SO FRUSTRATING.
