  1. This morning I started installing the new update for my 2011 Edge. During the installation, the system froze while installing file 2/9 (some kind of zip file). I spoke with Ford and the only solution was to bring it into the dealership, which is where I am now. A supposed one hour process is now going onto hour six. Because it started installing the new system, I can't go back to the previous one. I am beyond furious. This has taken up my whole day. I'll give a further update if they can get it to work (the service department told me they are having problems getting it installed. How did this issue not come up in the beta??
  2. One of the many welcome features of iOS 5 is the ability to display artist and track info on the MyFord Touch screen when you are streaming over Bluetooth Audio. However, at least on my Edge, when the song changes, the track info remains the same on the screen. The only way I can get it to update is to go into one of the three other screens (Climate, Phone or Info) and then click back to the audio screen. After about a second, the track and artist info changes to the song thats currently playing. This is kind of annoying. Is anyone else having this issue/found a solution? I'm trying to figure out if the issues stems from Ford or Apple's end. Thanks!
  3. Wilson- I got the same letter and it was after the V2.7 update. They must have sent it out regardless. To everyone- I wouldn't recommend rushing out to update to 2.7 just because it's the latest version. It is still very glitchy/buggy and in my opinion, isn't worth the time of bringing in your car, waiting, etc if another update is going to be coming soon. Like I stated earlier, I can't find any noticeable changes from the previous version I had, so my advice would be to wait until they fix the issues.
  4. Viper- not sure if this answer helps or not, but somewhere in between version 1.4 (the version my Edge rolled out of the factory with) and 2.7 (the first software update my car received from version 1.4) there is an update that must come from the dealership. Not sure where in the versions that update falls, but chances are you may need to bring your car in. Definitely find out from the dealership though before you bring it in to save you the time. Regardless, hopefully in the future we can update via flash drives
  5. I have been having major problems with MyFord Touch since I got my Edge in October. I finally brought it in for service last Wednesday and they upgraded the system to V2.7, I can honestly say I don't notice any differences, and I am still having problems with the system. Here are the problems I have been having so far (note that not all of these problems happen all the time, but all of them have occurred at least twice in the last week since the update): -Clock doesn't hold the correct time -Intermittent connection to Bluetooth audio with my iPhone 4 (had the same problem before the update) -When I get into my car (this has happened a few times so far) I notice the system trying to pair my phone but all it says is "Connecting to phone." When I go into the MyFord Touch settings, the Bluetooth is set to "off" even though I never turned it off when I got out of the car -Radio icons appear on camera screen when I shift into reverse (not all the time) -System still remains sluggish to inputs -Loss of volume control -Loss of function on the speech button on the steering wheel (I press it, the radio temporarily mutes and then comes back on, but there is no voice prompt) Now, I really like my Edge. It drives great, its very comfortable, and when MyFord Touch is working, the system is very cool. However, the software glitches and bugs are ruining the experience of this ownership. In addition to the problems with the factory system, where is the integration with Pandora, Stitcher and other functionalities Ford promised? Ford (and Microsoft) need to solve these problems immediately.
