  1. I'm getting this too with my 2011 with 20" rims. I'm hoping it's just the snow buildup in the rims (I drove through some thick snow recently) which is causing the tires to be out of balance. Will have to wait till some warmer weather rolls around so I can rinse out the wheel/rim to see if it'll go away. With my previous cars, it seems to do the trick.
  2. hey richy. just curious as to why you recommend the seat belts instead of the UAS? is it safer? Thanks.
  3. Burning Saab = blessing in disguise (as long as nobody was hurt) Welcome and congrats on the new ride!!!
  4. Thanks Kona. I too would never trust anything the dealer offers as "additional". I remember getting quoted $1500 for undercoating, paint protection (DiamondKote) and fabric protection for our Honda but when they heard I knew someone who did it, they immediately went down to around $700. I still didn't go with them cuz it's still cheaper to go to a private shop. Afterall, most of these shops have contracts with the dealerships and they end up doing the work for them anyways. Hancop, I'm in Calgary, Canada. Most auto detailing shops will do it or know of someone who does it. If you're in Calgary, I went to a place called KT Auto Accessories. Lemme know if you need more info.
  5. looks sweet! Love how it flows together!
  6. After 2 long months finally got it!! AWD Limited with BLIS, canadian touring package, HID, 20" rims and driver's entry. This is our first domestic vehicle and all I can say is... I'm impressed and loving it!! Picked it up in the middle of a freak snow storm with crazy wind gusts and it was silky smooth. Was too scared with the weather conditions to play with it but hope to do so later. Now, have to wait another 2 days since it's at a shop getting undercoating, paint protection and leather protection applied to it. Arggghhh the frustration! But love the car!!!!
  7. We use these seat protectors (http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=2689399) on our current car and will be using them on our new Edge as well when it arrives. Seems to work well for our current car but don't know how it'll fit on the new Edge.
  8. That's exactly how my dealer explained it to me as well (we are in Alberta). We first agreed on a discount amount off the MSRP, then the dealership factored in all the incentives which like you said are Factory to Dealer incentives. My dealer said exactly the same thing yours did that "They have done many of these allowances before" and you get the price reduction right away. One thing he did mention was just to wait for one or two months (so the bank can make a little money) and then pay it off.
  9. Despite hearing about the MFT problems, I'm still not too concerned. Almost all cars have some issues and as long as the manufacturer addresses them in a timely manner, that's all that matters to me - others might feel differently however. When deciding between the Edge and Venza, it came down to what you summed up best curlysir, "if you like the vehicle, buy it". Edge it was! Still waiting for it to come in.. hurry up car!
  10. Totally agree richy. It's totally worth it. After I generated a report, the dealership that partnered with CarCostCanada called and offered me the car (Edge Limited AWD + packages) at the wholesale price + $300. We ended up talking him out of adding that $300. Plus, the report tells you about the factory to dealer incentives as well. Ford was also offering an additional $4000 off for extended term finance (which carries an outrageous interest rate but we were told to just pay it off after a month - no penalty). For anyone buying a new car, equip yourself with one of these reports and you should be able to walk out with a pretty good deal. I believe most Ford dealers will do pretty close to the wholesale price because the dealer still makes an additional 2-3% of base MSRP because of factory holdbacks. Now, just gotta wait another 4-5 weeks for them to deliver the vehicle.
  11. Was very happy to find this site! Was going back and forth between an Edge and a Venza but once I realized there was a forum of other Edge owners and after reading about of positive things, it helped me make my purchase on Saturday. Can't wait for 6-8 weeks to roll on by! Thanks everyone!
