  1. You don't have to drop and re-add them once they're paired. Sync only supports one connected bluetooth device at a time. If your blackberry is connected and you want to use a different device you have to go to the bluetooth screen, select the new device and select Connect (might be slightly different on the MFT equipped 2011s).

I have to do this with my phone and my wife's phone when I leave the house in her Edge. Her iphone connects automatically and then I have to go into the menu and connect my iphone manually.

Actually I tried this but the connect button for the ipod's are greyed out so you can't actually press connect for them. Maybe I have to press disconnect on the blackberry phone first and then maybe the connect on the ipods won't be greyed out and I can connect one of them. If this is how it works they should change it to allow one bluetooth device to be used for the phone and another used for something else like media and allow both to be connected at the same time :)

  2. I have a blackberry torch setup with bluetooth as my default phone in the Edge. I also have 3 ipod touchs setup via bluetooth. The problem I am having is that since the Blackberry is the default it will always connect when I start the car, but the ipods don't seem too. I can go back into the ipods and tell them to connect and they will, and they show up under the bluetooth listings for all my bluetooth devices, but they don't show up like the blackberry does on the media screen as a source you can pick. When you first add them they do and they work fine but after you turn the car off and start it again they don't show up in the media screen. If I want to use them again I have to delete them and add them again from the list of bluetooth devices. Anyone know of the proper way to have these available all the time without having to keep dropping and adding them when I restart the car ?

    Thanks

  3. Hi I was wondering if there was a way to have the 8 inch LCD play videos while driving or show the view from the rear view camera while driving.

The video could be viewed by the front seat passenger and they could listen to it via headphones.

The viewing out the rear view camera might be nice in the case where you are towing something and wanted a quick check of it.

Before anyone explains why it is the way it is, I understand that as we don't want people watching video's while driving as this would be worse than playing with a cell phone while driving, but it would be nice for the passenger :)

    Thanks

  4. Congrats. I also haven't driven mine much as it has also snowed for me. I plan to get it undercoated. Didn't trust the dealer's $700 Cdn plug in rust repellent system. I've got several cars that have been undercoated with no rust to date and one is 20 years old!

    Enjoy your ride.

Where do you get it undercoated ? Are you in Canada ?

  5. Mushroom88 - I went with the $4000 extended term financing on my 2011 Edge Limited. But others on the forum are saying that the $4000 goes to the bank and not to the customer. Do you know how your dealer is applying the credit?

The way I understood it was that the bank would get the $4000 after the second loan payment and that $4000 would be applied to the principal balance of the loan. I also plan to pay out the loan with another one at a rate that is a lot less than the dealership negotiated one.

The way you understand it is not the way I have been told by 3 dealerships now. The $4,000 is to reduce your interest rate and Ford pays the $4,000 to the bank to get them to reduce it. You do not get the $4,000 nor do you get it off the price of your vehicle ):.

  6. The APA pricing description says the same thing but the Ford dealer says it works as I explained above.

This is a quote from Car Cost Canada...It does not answer the question directly, but does say that it is applied to the before tax amount

The 73 MONTH TERM OR GREATER EXTENDED TERM FINANCE ALLOWANCE/FACTORY TO DEALER REBATE - applies to all models financed through a Financial Institution other than Ford Credit Canada with a 73 months term or greater. Please note this program only applies if the dealer facilitates the contract with the financial institution AND uses the funds to buy down (lower) the interest rate on the loan. This program applies to deliveries between November 2, 2010 and November 30, 2010 and can NOT be combined with the Delivery Allowance nor the subvented finance rates listed on the Wholesale Price Report. This program is applied to the before tax amount. Please consult your dealer for further details.

  7. I don't understand what you guys are talking about when you say you can get the $4,000 credit. I contacted the finance guy at the dealership and he told me that the credit does not go to the customer. This is how he said it works. A deal is negotiated with the bank. Say the interest rate for more than 72 months is 7.99 %. Ford will give the $4,000 to the bank to get your rate down to say 4.5%. He said that the customer in no way gets the $4,000, it is the bank that gets it as a fee for them to reduce your rate. Some of you have said you got the $4,000 credit yourselfs off the price of the car. Is this only in the US ? I am in Toronto Canada. Are any of you that got the credit in Canada, and how did you do it since my dealership said it is not possible for the client to get the $4,000 off, and he actually read the contract from Ford regarding this to me.

    Confused ?

    Thanks

  8. Heard from a little Bird today (someone at Ford) that Ford has just released a new update today to address these issues.

A large team of Microsoft and Ford employees have been working on this for several weeks.

Many of the ordered Edge's have been held up until this fix was completed.

They issued the update and usb cables to the dealers to upload the fix.

Lets hope this fix actually fixes everything or most things and does not break anything else :)

    Cheers

  9. If this is as big of an issue as people seem to be making it out to be here, they should stop production of the Edge until it is fixed. No one spending this amount of money on a vehicle should have to go though all of this pain. Funny thing is after reading these posts I called several dealerships in the Toronto area and Ford Canada inquiring about issues with myFord touch and they all said they are not aware of any issues.
