  1. Around in the city the MPG drop is huge VS FWD.

I have an AWD CX-7 with the same system, different tuning, and the AWD just soaks up city MPG.

FWD edge, it does nicely, on the highway the 2 mpg drop is accurate.

AWD is worth it though, imo.

  2. :reading:

As far as the brakes go, not the same at all. I can activate ABS so easily in our EDGE and in the CX-7 I can stop on the dime and not hear a single thing. They're more touchy as well, I notice this whenever I jump out of one and into the other.

Seats are person specific, the CX-7's seats have more bolstering, and the EDGE's seats are more flat for easier driving and wider frames.

The sport interior is cheap looking. GT is a night and day difference.

  3. The CX-7 had a lot of minor issues with early builds. the EDGE isn't without it's build issues like poor paint and bad AWD PTO units, clunking transmissions, leaking engines.... etc.

Most of the problems with the CX-7 are fixable if your dealer knows what they're doing. If you we're to ask most members on the board about the problems experianced they would be minor and happy about their purchase, all late builds and 2008's have almost no problems. Even the early builds we're just issues like wide spread gas cap problems and VSSV valve issues relating to CEL's, nothing effected drivability.

--also, at a glance, the issues aren't even issues... just high expectations and misunderstandings

  4. Maybe I should have been a bit more clear, when I log in after being logged out it does not show new posts, it says that there isn't any, and obviously there are.

I also like to stay logged in.. but as of late it hasn't been letting me.

  5. OOOOOOOK

So I click on remember me, and when I come back I'm logged out - this forum isn't holding their cookies

And when I hit new posts, I get a big fat slice of nothing.

    that is all.

  6. Nissan just cut a nice fat check for CD, I mean a HARSH ride! LOL!!! If anything it's a little too floaty.

The engine is best in class, I'm guessing MT thought the engine was "gritty" sounding when they picked the CX-9 for SOTY, or when Wards picked the engine for an award, the VQ vibrates over 5K and the CVT is worse than turbo lag off the line.

The EDGE is so quite... they're clearly slanting this for the new Morono.

The comments about the CX-7 are also quite laughable, last year they loved it, now they can't stand it.

  7. The EDGE's resell is terrible, it's not worth trading in, you will not save a dime.

Oh, and I was just at my Mazda dealer ordering some parts, they had a blazing copper SE selling for 18,995 or something like that, you can expect about a thousand or more less if you privately sell. You're just not going to get more than that.

  8. They don't have the 50K warranty anymore. And I think the old 5 started at 17K, yeah it's cheap and not in the same field as either the CX-7 or 9, the power just isn't there, neither is the interior quality, but for 17K they're damn good.

If you think Mazda isn't above Ford in quality why would Ford heavily rely on them for platforms, engine tech, chassis tuning etc. The only thing Ford does is style them differently, give them different interiors (fusion VS mazda6 for example) and try to improve on little stuff to differentiate from Mazda.

  9. Even A-Plan price was outrageous on the CX-9, plus I can't stand those front fenders, UUUGGGLLLYYY, doesn't go with rest of car I think, Mazda quality isn't near Fords, look at consumer reports....

    :hysterical:

If you think Ford is above Mazda in the engineering/reliability department you're in another world. Nearly all Ford's are riding on Volvo/Mazda technology hun.

You're excused though, you read consumer reports and believe it.

If you really read it closely, you would see the major reliability issue is the audio system.

CR's reliability surveys are seriously flawed.
