  1. I did a little more research and it appears the relay box under the hood is not wired for the trailer tow relays and fuses, so looks like I will be going with the aftermarket trailer wiring harness/module.
  2. For trailer light wiring on a 2013 Limited, is it possible to just replace the rear wiring harness with the factory harness that includes the 4 wire flat plug, and then add the relays and fuses for trailer tow, or is there an in-line module that would still need to be installed somewhere? I understand that there are aftermarket wiring kits, however I would like to attempt the installation of the factory wiring first if possible.
  3. I had the dealer install a Ford genuine accessory remote start in my 2011 Limited. It is a plug and play module, and was $400 installed. Came with 2 additional smart keys, look exactly like the factory keys but have an additional button on them for the remote start. Now I have 4 keys, two with remote start buttons and two without. This system also allows for you to customize the settings through the left side dash menu, just like the factory remote start. You can program it to have the heat or a/c come on at pre-set temp and even turn on the heated seats in the winter. The only down-fall is you don't get the long range like some of the aftermarket remote starts give you, but you benefit from not having another remote to hang on your keychain, and from not having the wiring hacked into by the $8.00 per hour installer at the local stereo shop since this unit is plug and play.

  7. Sounds like you are having the same exact problem as me. Did not notice a problem until I passed the 4,000 mile mark. I have not experienced this with any of my previous vehicles, although this is the first one I have had with a 6 speed trans. I have tried both harder and softer acceleration, and it still seems to be present no matter what RPM it shifts into 5th at. Also, 5th seems to be the only one with the issue, all the other gears shift without such a large jump in RPMs. It is a pretty noticable jump in RPM though, especially when you are driving with the windows down and can really hear the engine rev when it shifts. Luckily, I am so pleased with the vehicle overall that it's not going to kill me to have to live with it- thank God for the famous Ford 2 year lease program. Hopefully the issue will be corrected when I'm ready for my 2009 Edge.
  8. I am having the same problem as posted in the TSB regarding the transmission in 1st gear, however, I am also having a problem with shifting into 5th gear. When the trans shifts into 5th (I believe) around 40-43 MPH, the RPM's jump by about 500 when it shifts, making the trans seem like it is almost slipping. When it does so, you can even hear the engine rev as it shifts. It almost reminds me of how it sounds when you would shift with a manual transmission and not let off the gas when you pressed the clutch. Have there been any other reports of this or does anyone know any info about it? Any info would be helpful as I am getting ready to take it in for service and would like to give the dealer something to work with. Thanks!
