This forum looks dead but I'll try anyway. I understand there is a MFT v3.8 for my 2011 Edge SEL. But SyncMyRide says my current v3.6 is up to date. My SyncMyRide subscription expired years ago, is this why it won't show the v3.8 update? Or do I need to visit the dealer to get it?

My Sync system was dead for about 2 weeks, no screen, no radio, no camera, etc. I tried the usual cures, pulling the fuse, disconnecting the battery. I even bought a new battery because the old one was weak. The radio would work briefly after a fuse pull, but Sync didn't work. Then yesterday Sync just started working again. The clock and calendar were wrong but my settings and wallpaper were the same. Now every time I start the car I say a little prayer hoping Sync is still working. Any idea what could have caused Sync to die for 2 weeks then suddenly start working? 2011 Edge, MFT, newest version of Sync.

2011 Edge. I had the local Ford shop change the original cabin air filter at 32500 miles. Yes I know it was over due. Now the fan makes a different noise, kind of a low roar, that varies with fan speed. Air volume is ok. I looked at the filter and it appears to be installed correctly, although it looks rather small. Any idea why the sound would completely change? If the original filter was clogged, I could undrstand the fan sound maybe being louder or softer, but this is a new sound.

I have a 2011 Edge with MFT v2.4. Recently Sirius changed their station numbers. Since then I have been having trouble with MFT voice commands to the Sirius radio. At first I thought it was because the station numbers had changed, so I redid my station presets. That did not fix it. I used to be able to say "Bluegrass" and the radio would tune to the "Bluegrass Junction" station. Now it gives an error. I could also say "Area" and the radio would tune to the "Electric Area" station. Now it gives an error. If I say a station preset number, it goes to some other station. The on screen preset button for the "Electric Area" station used to say "Area", now it says "ElecArea". If I try to say that, MFT does not understand. That really sucks because changing radio stations was the main thing I used voice commands for. Now that doesnt work. Any ideas how to fix the Sirius radio so it will understand the new station lineup? Another question. Isnt HD radio standard on Edge? I have HD radio stations in my area but I see nothing about HD radio on my radio.

Consumer Reports dosnt carry much weight with me. I've seen other products, like cameras, be reviewed by people who dont seem to know anything about photography. If someone dosnt like MFT, they dont have to use it. There are four ways to control everything. Dash lcd, MFT, console buttons and knobs, or speech. I use a mixture of all four as I learn more speech commands. It is possible to get an SEL without MFT. I saw one on a lot.

Hello. I'm a new 2011 silver (stone interior) Edge SEL owner. I traded in a 2008 Chevy HHR 2LT. I wanted more room, less noise, and more power. The Edge certainly covers that. I dont have a bluetooth phone. Thinking of getting a T-Mobile "Comet" or a cheapo Tracphone with bluetooth. Anyone try either of those with the Edge? A few nit picks. I'm getting about 19 MPG in mostly highway driving (got 30 in the HHR), so that's a bit disappointing. Maybe that will improve once it gets broke in. I'm probably driving a bit faster with the Edge. At least it burns regular gas. The HHR would display the tire pressure in the dash, but the Edge dosnt seem to do that. All that technology, and it cant tell me the tire pressure? The HHR had remote start, but my Edge dosnt have that option. At that price range, it should be standard.
