Battery is good per multi meter. Terminals tight.
Now the good news. A neighbor suggested a reboot by disconnecting the battery terminals. It worked! Just like a computer. Of course, the Edge is just one big computer anyway. Or maybe many of them.
Anyhow Akirby, thanks for responding. I learned something today.

Our Limited with MFT is unpredictable at best. We have had this problem and others such as blind spot monitoring (BSM) going away without notice, or the back up camera not coming on until it feels like it, phone taking forever to work, etc. Latest was it wouldn't come out of park which was not a MFT issue. Traced it to fuse 59 which was for brake lights. For some reason it blew and the car will not come out of park if the brake lights don't work. When you get used to using the BSM and it quits with no message, life can be interesting.
Basically, I'm to the point I don't trust the car. I carry a spare GPS in the car for times when the Nav doesn't want to work.
All of this is a real shame because the basic car is a good one.

I own the 2011 Limited AWD with HID lights. US version with no DRL's. When I turn my headlights on I can not see any dashboard indication that my lights are on. There is a blue highlight icon that does appear if I have my brights on. Turn brights off and the icon disappears. On the round headlight switch there is a dimly lit LED that only can be seen in complete darkness. Am I missing something here?
My old Ford had a green icon for lights on the blue icon for brights. I guess that is gone?
The auto on headlight function is useless. It has to be very dark for the highlights to come on (auto). As previously mentioned when they do come on I am not aware of it. With all the automation in this vehicle I have to manage headlights manually for DRL's and headlights on/off.
Comments?

Ditto! I'm missing it too>

It does serve a purpose and you can make it work. Wife said "get it out of my sight!!". It's her car so I did. I know it's because of the reclining seats but I would have given those up for a "real" cargo cover like many other brands have. The Edge is such a fine vehicle that this cover really irritates. Now, if the vehicle was a Yugo I wouldn't even be giving it a second thought.

I was after the AWD candy red sport. Wife wanted that color but we could only come up with a limited in that color at the time. I also wanted the garage door opener and the adaptive cruise control which were not available on the Sport. So, we got the Limited and have been happy with it. We wanted to be able to flat tow whatever we got behind our motor home and had narrowed the choices to the Edge, Grand Cherokee, or Buick Enclave. Since the latter two bumped our 5000# hitch limit, the Edge won. Equiped to tow and 1/2 tank of gas it weighs about 4500#.

Those are US price. Canadian price are like 10K more expensive, that's a little ridiculous... and to add a little more to this, our canadian dollard is equal or better than the US dollard.
The 38,278 US price you payed, is that with taxe?
That was the total out the door price but my state has no sales tax.

In Feb 2011 I went through United Services Automobile Association (USAA). For an MSRP of 43,850 I was quoted, 38,871 for a Sport. I ended up getting the Limited with a MSRP of 43,895 and ended up paying 38, 278. I normally negotiate for hours, sometimes days, when I buy a car. This was my first time going this route. I used to enjoy the "game" of negotiating for cars but I won't be doing that anymore. I am sure that other buying services can do as well if not better but this worked for me. No muss, no fuss. My local Ford dealer who advertised they would meet any ligitimate offer, didn't, so I had to go 60 miles instead of 15. I guess I'll always wonder if I could have negotiated a better deal but thats life!

My Edge was at the dealer today to get the memory seats fixed for the second time. Hopefully they will stay fixed. Also discussed v2.7 and my dealer says they contacted Ford and that there is no 2.7 available for my Edge. They have "vowed" to get to the bottom of this for me.
-
There is no issue if you install the Roadmaster. Ours was done 2 months ago. It looks good.
-
Josh,
Interesting that you got 2.7 installed last week. Yesterday I went to the dealer for my first service and they proudly announced they upgraded me to the latest and greatest - 2.4. You would think that if one dealer had access to 2.7 then they all would.
-
I have read and heard that the Ecoboost is FWD only. Other than that, I would have to drive one to decide.
-
If I drop mine from 15" it closes. Seems easy enough.
-
My dealer sold me a 7 year, 75,000 mile, zero deductible, Premium Plus policy from National Warranty Corp for $1436. I don't know if this is a good deal or not.
-
I'm happy with mine after the first 6 weeks. I do agree with the flasher button complaint and that the cargo cover is not the best. I could do without reclining rear seats for a decent cargo cover.
-
And make sure the stick that holds it up is stowed properly and not in the way.
-
Looks like about 7 seconds to 60? That puts it right in there with an Acura MDX but not up with the new BMW X3. Of course, both of those are going to be $10-15K more expensive.
-
When we're talking Ecoboost on this thread it's the V6 that has AWD like in the SHO and the Flex. Not the 4-banger.
-
AWD is also a good thing to have in the rain. But, is it really, necessary? even in snow country? No.
-
So, I wonder why mine changed OK$ Later version, luck, clean living??
-
I just had mine done. Entire front including headlights but not the grill. Did not do the whole hood. Just went 18.5" from leading edge then ran a line straight left and right. At that point on the fenders, tappered back slightly. Cost was $570. Different grades of material will affect the price. It took the guy about 4 hours. The main reason I did mine is because it will be towed behind a motor home. Watching my installer do this I wouldn't recommend a do it yourself unless you have some talent in this arena.
-
And the Ecoboost V6.
-
My Edge is a month old now, no problems. Just went out to the garage to check and the clock and it made the DST switch.

If you are going to use chains, check out the owners manual. I recall that it does not recommend chains with the 20" or 22" wheels.

Our criteria included something most people don't care about. It has to be towable 4 down behind a motor home and needs to be less than 5,000#. That's why we bought our 2011 over 4 years ago and why we will buy a 2016 Edge Sport early next year.
Otherwise the 2011 was not our first choice. But, having driven the new Edge Sport, it is a first choice. We like everything about it.
