  1. Our criteria included something most people don't care about. It has to be towable 4 down behind a motor home and needs to be less than 5,000#. That's why we bought our 2011 over 4 years ago and why we will buy a 2016 Edge Sport early next year. Otherwise the 2011 was not our first choice. But, having driven the new Edge Sport, it is a first choice. We like everything about it.

Battery is good per multi meter. Terminals tight. Now the good news. A neighbor suggested a reboot by disconnecting the battery terminals. It worked! Just like a computer. Of course, the Edge is just one big computer anyway. Or maybe many of them. Anyhow Akirby, thanks for responding. I learned something today.

My Edge Limited AWD HAS A NEW BATTERY, CLEAN AND TIGHT CONNECTIONS, JUICE IN THE BATTERY, BUT NOTHING IN THE CAR WORKS. NOT EVEN A FAINT GLOW FROM INTERIOR LIGHTS. ANY SUGGESTIONS? Didn't mean to shout, just wasn't looking and too lazy to start over.
  4. Our Limited with MFT is unpredictable at best. We have had this problem and others such as blind spot monitoring (BSM) going away without notice, or the back up camera not coming on until it feels like it, phone taking forever to work, etc. Latest was it wouldn't come out of park which was not a MFT issue. Traced it to fuse 59 which was for brake lights. For some reason it blew and the car will not come out of park if the brake lights don't work. When you get used to using the BSM and it quits with no message, life can be interesting. Basically, I'm to the point I don't trust the car. I carry a spare GPS in the car for times when the Nav doesn't want to work. All of this is a real shame because the basic car is a good one.
  5. It does serve a purpose and you can make it work. Wife said "get it out of my sight!!". It's her car so I did. I know it's because of the reclining seats but I would have given those up for a "real" cargo cover like many other brands have. The Edge is such a fine vehicle that this cover really irritates. Now, if the vehicle was a Yugo I wouldn't even be giving it a second thought.
  6. The edge w/pushbutton start tows just fine. Follow the instructions in the manual. Having said that, I did install the Toad-Charge which trickles from the coach battery. I worry about things and felt this was cheap insurance. Kit is complete, easy to install.

  7. Sandpiper,

Do you have any additional info regarging towing in neutral with the keyless option & batttery issues? I plan on ordering a 2012 Edge next week.

  8. I was after the AWD candy red sport. Wife wanted that color but we could only come up with a limited in that color at the time. I also wanted the garage door opener and the adaptive cruise control which were not available on the Sport. So, we got the Limited and have been happy with it. We wanted to be able to flat tow whatever we got behind our motor home and had narrowed the choices to the Edge, Grand Cherokee, or Buick Enclave. Since the latter two bumped our 5000# hitch limit, the Edge won. Equiped to tow and 1/2 tank of gas it weighs about 4500#.
  9. That was the total out the door price but my state has no sales tax.
  10. In Feb 2011 I went through United Services Automobile Association (USAA). For an MSRP of 43,850 I was quoted, 38,871 for a Sport. I ended up getting the Limited with a MSRP of 43,895 and ended up paying 38, 278. I normally negotiate for hours, sometimes days, when I buy a car. This was my first time going this route. I used to enjoy the "game" of negotiating for cars but I won't be doing that anymore. I am sure that other buying services can do as well if not better but this worked for me. No muss, no fuss. My local Ford dealer who advertised they would meet any ligitimate offer, didn't, so I had to go 60 miles instead of 15. I guess I'll always wonder if I could have negotiated a better deal but thats life!
  11. My Edge was at the dealer today to get the memory seats fixed for the second time. Hopefully they will stay fixed. Also discussed v2.7 and my dealer says they contacted Ford and that there is no 2.7 available for my Edge. They have "vowed" to get to the bottom of this for me.
  12. There is no issue if you install the Roadmaster. Ours was done 2 months ago. It looks good.
  13. Josh, Interesting that you got 2.7 installed last week. Yesterday I went to the dealer for my first service and they proudly announced they upgraded me to the latest and greatest - 2.4. You would think that if one dealer had access to 2.7 then they all would.
  14. I have read and heard that the Ecoboost is FWD only. Other than that, I would have to drive one to decide.
