Yes, I did tap into slot 90. Even when I took the fuse out, they were still on but very dim. I emailed Dan at DTBL with the issues so lets see what he comes up with. Oh, I forgot to mention also that the turn signals in the EDGE-2 seem to both blink at the same time even if I'm just doing a left or a right turn. They also blink with a very low dim. Hopefully with everyones help I can get these lights working good!

Hi All, Just installed my EDGE-2 DRL last night. Have a lot if issues. Don't quite know what I did wrong but it seems that the DRLs are on FULL when I shut my Edge off!! When I turn the car on they seem to be really dim and no difference in brightness turning the headlights on or off. Just really dim. And like I said, when I turn the car off, the DRLs stay on and in FULL brightness mode. I followed the instructions to the letter, I think! No issues with the install except that I was missing page 4 of the instructions but I got the last part from the install video. I did have an issue with the fuse not fitting or being really tight for the fuse adapter part but it did go in. I really like these lights and I really wish somebody has some thoughts or help for me to work these issues out.

I've got a 2011 Sport with 63K miles on it. No problems as of yet. I do 100+ miles a day to work. All highway and I'm pulling in the 23mpg average. I can go from Monday to Thursday on one tank of fuel. One full tank will get me 425 miles average. My Sport is going in the shop this weekend for new tires. First set is just about had it. Been very happy with my Edge so far! Will be keeping it until it dies!

My 2011 Edge SEL has Synch and My Touch. The Climate control includes an "Auto" function which should maintain the temperature of the cabin automatically. When my climate control is set to "Auto" the A/C never comes on even when the cabin get warmer than the set temperature. THe user's manual says the A/C should be turned on and off automatically when using the "Auto" mode. The dealer seems to be unable to explain why the "Auto" mode is not working as I expect. The dealer checked a 2012 Edge and the Auto mode seems to work as I expect and turns the A/C on and off as needed to maintain the cabine temperature. The dealer is talking with Ford to determine what to do next. Anyone having this probelm?
Hi there. Haven't had issues with my auto climate control. Working fine on my '11 sport. AC going on and off to maintain temp. My auto feature turns off if I touch any of the climate controls like fan speed, temp or a/c. Which I'm thinking that is the way its suppose to work. Hope you figure out your issues. Agree with you except for my first issue. I was talking about the screen based weather stuff, not the SYNC weather service. Basically the Travellink system.
And also in fairness to the folks here that have experienced other problems I have no idea if 2.8 will fix those. For instance, my calender and clock have always been correct since they day I bought the car so I never had that issue to begin with.
Hi All, Same here. I started off my Edge Sport with v2.8 MFT. No issues with system re-boots or clock/calender issues to report on. I do have an hour drive to work each way an all has been working fine; a bit sluggish sometimes; but fine!

Hey everyone. I am new to forum as of yesterday, although I've browsed as a guest several times. I have a '07 Edge SEL Plus AWD, Black on Tan. I love it, although now when I see the '11 with the new front end and interior, I'm having thoughts of going for a new model.
Yesterday I towed my first load over 1000lbs, my Edge handled it great. No loss in power, no steering pull, I couldn't even tell I had a heavy load ('heavy' being a relative term, is was probably between 2800 and 3000 lbs). My wife didn't share my enthusiasm for the Edge's performance.....
Love my Edge, love the forum so far. Thanks for the great information.

I see a lot of complaints about the 2011 Edge Sport on here, so I'm wondering if there is ANYONE out there who likes theirs. Is there anyone who hasn't had problems with the MFT? Is the fix for it pretty easy, or is it a big problem? Thanks!
Been driving mine for about 4 days and I just love it! I have a check list things to look for but so far experienced none of the problems other member have had. Have gen2.8 MFT and although there is a small amount of lag in the system, all seems to be working fine for me. I do have to take into account that I went from a 2002 GMC envoy with 267,000 miles to this new truck so things were a bit different back then. I'll keep the group posted if and/or when I start to experience some issues! (knock on wood)!!

Since my I pod is a old one (my Wife's) I'm thinking of getting my own, Does anyone use an I pod in their ford which sync's up, with no problem using a USB cable ? and what I pod are you using, (Classic, Nano, or Touch) ??? appreciate all help i can get
Hey there, I'm using my i-pod touch 4th gen with the usb from apple (which came with the ipod; aka pigtail) no problems with sync. It did take a bit of time to index but I think its because I have about 3800 tracks on my ipod! I'm running the latest 2.8 2ndgen software for MFT

Hi Everyone!
Soon to be 2011 Ford Edge owner! Ordered my Edge Sport AWD on March 12. Got my VIN and window sticker on the 5th of April. Sync installed (gen2.8) on April 11th. So I'm hoping just a matter of a few weeks until I'm up and running!
Live in central NJ and I commute up to northern NJ everyday. A 48 mile trek each way! But I luv to drive and I'm really looking forward to my Sport AWD. Tuxedo Black fully loaded except rear seat DVDs. (single and no kids so no need) I currently have a 2002 GMC Envoy and I'm pushing 265,000!!! Still running great but it's definitely time for a change. Also this will be a brand change for me. I've always had GM trucks although my first car was a 83' Ford Ranger pick-up. I've owned four GMC Jimmy suvs and the Envoy since the early 90s but I haven't been impressed with GMs lineup the last few years. Test drove the Edge afer a few GM test drives and I was hooked. Hoping that my 2011 Edge Sport will be able to go up and up in mileage like my Envoy!
Will be posting in other treads since I have many questions to ask the group!

Hi all!
Happy Easter and Passover to all. Got my Edge Sport this past friday. Very impressed with the quailty of the ride. Did a few minor mods these past few days. Gorrila black wheel locks and MPG caliper covers just to start. I have Gen2.8 MFT and all seems good. Just a bit of lag here and there but don't seem to have issues as of yet. Will keep an eye on it. Posted a few photos to share with all. Enjoy! Any more mod advice?!?

Hi again All, Just got a call from my dealership. My Edge is in! Took 5 weeks total from order to delivery. Very impressed with that but I'm hoping that Ford didn't just slap this thing together and get it out the door. Just saying.
From what I've been reading in this forum, I have a list of things to watch for and be concerned about. All who have contributed have helped me greatly in choosing my purchase and even thought I might have some problems with this truck (ie:Sync/MFT) I'm still very excited about the tech and the 2011 in general. I'll keep the group posted on my Sport and I'll post a few photos this weekend.

Hmm...I ordered mine on the same day, have had the window decal for a couple of weeks, but no Sync installed yet?
I guess they noticed it was a Canadian order...no urgency.
Hi RonnieEge, You would think that since the Edge is assembled in Canada that it would be delivered in a much timelier fashion that us down here in the US. Can't figure that one out. Hope you get yours soon!

Does not need a dual filament. A shutter in the headlight assembly opens for high beam.

I used DDMTuning brand HID'S. for $45.00, how do you go wrong? I bought the 9006 and it fit without modifications. The bright clear light focuses perfectly through the projector lamp. Check out the photos in my gallery and pm if you have any questions.

Been enjoying your posts to the group and I've gained a bit of knowledge on the Edge and mod parts that I've been thinking of. Have a question on your HID kit you installed. Do you loose the hi beams once these HID bulbs/kit is installed? My brother bought me the Retro-solutions kit but it looks pretty complicated to install. So I might forgo that kit and go with the DDMTuning kit you mentioned.

Oh! one more thinky. I work in Wayne, NJ and I "think" that I see you drive past me everyday. Been seeing a white 2011 Sport with HIDs passing me on a side street in Pequannock around 6:30 in the morning hours! Funny if it was you! Don't have my Edge Sport yet but will soon!

The 2011 Ford Edge Sport Owners Manual lists the HIR 2 as the headlight bulb for this model.
Does anyone know the brand of HIR 2 bulb that Ford has installed in the 2011 Sports?
My 2011 Sport headlights aren't very bright. I'd like to replace the current bulbs with something brighter and would love some guidance from other 2011 Sport owners.
I found that Philips has a 3rd Generation HIR 2 bulb on the market. Is this an upgrade to what Ford installed or is it the same exact bulb?

Hi mgmgrand, I have the same question about these bulbs. I did some research about Philips 3rd Gen HIR2 bulbs and they seem very good, from what I've read. But I'm concerned about the high/low beams. Does the HIR2 from Philips have a dual filament? Still can't find that out. Didn't want to loose my high beam abilities. I'll keep you posted on my research progress.

Hi There, You mentioned that you installed some 9005 versions of these bulbs. I purchased a set myself but I noticed that in the socket of these bulbs are two plastic "key" like slots. Do you files these down to fit the headlights wiring plug? Didn't want to force these bulbs in if they don't fit the "key". The factory plugs have one plastic slot in the plug. Any suggestions?
