I can tell you not everyone has experienced these issues, in fact mine has 2.8 with ZERO. Fast, back up camera works perfect, very little lag, no seat heaters disappearing...nada!

With 2.8 I dont have this issue.

Well as a new LTD owner I'm a little biased, but I can tell you I love this truck...I got the HID's which are really nice...and I got the BLIS pkg which I use constantly. Also, the LTD is faster than the Sport (as crazy as that is) due to the lighter weight.

But, I think you can't go wrong with either.

Seems pretty good for an awd vehicle to me.

I recently had mine upgraded from 1.8 to 2.8. It had a ford recall, so i got my car cleaned inside and out and a loan car over the weekend since they had dramas downloading and installing from the server? I have not really noticed anything different in terms of speed. The Cross-Traffic now beeps and is very sensitive (a car approx 10m away set it off??) The one thing i have noticed is how slow it is to react when first switched on. If i start the car then go immediately into Navigation and search for a destination, it takes approx 2-3 minutes before anything happens. I used this many times on a recent trip and was wondering was it was SO CRAP. Or i would navigate to a previous destination and take the same time to show me where i was going. Lucky i also have Tomtom on my Iphone. Any other people seen this? or suggest a fix?

I think there is something wrong with your navi - Mine is also on 2.8 (2011 LTD AWD), and mine takes under a minute from loading navigation until it is ready to use.

No issues at all, quiet, quick, comfortable...love the MTF as well! :happy feet:

Hi RonnieEge, You would think that since the Edge is assembled in Canada that it would be delivered in a much timelier fashion that us down here in the US. Can't figure that one out. Hope you get yours soon!

Picked it up today....LOVE it..:D

A day is not much, but everything worked 100% so far. The MFT is a little laggy, but nothing to extreme.

I unfortunately did not think to ask the changes between 2.7 ->2.8

Yep. This version of Touch has major issues due to poor memory management. A reboot or pull of fuse 29 always seemed to clear up issues.

You will still see issues but the regular reboot resets the memory and makes everything OK again.

I pick up my new LTD AWD tomorrow, it has 2.8 Software...I wonder what changes there are? Ford should have release notes..:D

Hmm...I ordered mine on the same day, have had the window decal for a couple of weeks, but no Sync installed yet?

I guess they noticed it was a Canadian order...no urgency.

Your absolutely right, it will definetly feel like a looooooong week. It did for me. I felt like a kid waiting for Christmas day to get here so I could open my present. The waiting is the tough part but it is most definetly worth it!

I'm am finally SOOOOOOO happy :hyper: to say that I am now a new owner of a beautiful Tuxedo Black 2011 Ford Edge Limited AWD!! My Edge was indeed delivered to my front door bright and early Saturday morning and in perfect condition. The dealership in North Carolina was awesome to work with and made the out-of-state purchase a great experience. I have spent the weekend learning everything I can about the vehicle and how things work, in addition to showing it off to my family. The Edge is a dream to drive - I love it! If anyone reading this forum is thinking about owning the Edge all I can say is GO FOR IT! You won't regret it!!

From reading other form notes this means production should start next week and then it takes 2-3 days to run through the assembly line.

Then wait for shipment to the West Coast by Rail

So if all goes well I hope to have some time late May

I live about 15 minutes from the plant, but I'm told the ETA at the dealer is Apr 18th I'm hoping they are right!. I think you ment late May...:P

The Ex is NICE! My wife loves it! And since she works so hard with the kids all day, I'm happy to see her happy in the truck that she wanted. I guess since my last 4 purchases were Ford's we are now a Blue Oval Family.

My options were BLIS, Navi, Tri color White, HID...My Edge will be Job#2 Serial B19000...something like that...lol

Does anyone know of an official notification from Ford on an AWD delay? My dealership doesn't seem to know anything about it. I guess I find it odd that Ford is not notifying anyone - the dealership or the customer.

I bought mine March 9, 2011, (Limited AWD) and I got a call yesterday from the dealer they gave me the VIN, and he had an April 18 ETA from the factory, so I would think you should have been ok.
