  1. Hi... New 2011 Edge owner and wanted to know if anyone has done a HID upgrade to their halogen units. The halogen bulb was an oddball size/model.

    Any info would be appreciated.

The Retro-Solutions kit works well on a 2011. The 2011 Edge uses a projector type headlight system, which can be fitted with HIDs without the glare problems that are so common with aftermarket HID kits.

  2. Hi there,

This is directed at anyone who has done the Retro Solution HID kit upgrade. I read somewhere on here an alteration is needed to the headlight dust covers?

Can anyone verify/confirm this? Just want to know what I'm getting into be before placing the order. I have a 2007 Edge if that helps.

I have a 2011 Edge, so this is based on that model.

The dust cover will need a 1" hole drilled through the center. A regular 1" spade type drill bit will work just fine. The light kit comes with a grommet that will fit the 1" hole in the cover. All necessary wiring passes through that grommet to connect the factory wiring and the HID wiring.

It all worked out fine on mine. No other modifications were needed.

  3. Hi everyone

new to forum and new to ford. just picked up a 2011 sel a few weeks ago....

ive always regarded domestic in a negative light...but after hearing a lot of good things about ford (and other domestics) lateley i thought i would give it a shot...and have been impressed so far...

However, this morning i had to access the battery in order to give a boost to my other vehicle and i could not get the hood shut! no matter what i tried it just wont close.

it only catches on the safety catch (the position it is in when you pop the hood from inside the car). Anyone else experience this? am i missing something (a trick to it)??

    much appreciated!

My 2011 does the same thing. The trick on mine is to slam it shut. Just pushing it down won't work.
