It stops and forces you to hold it to close it as a safety measure. It doesn’t have a pinch sensor to stop it from closing on a body part.

$100/month for how many months? Sounds super expensive especially for partial coverage. And good luck getting them to agree to cover something. 3rd parties are notoriously difficult. That’s why we all recommend only Ford warranties ( or better yet keep the money in your pocket).

Ford delayed the EVs targeted for the Oakville plant until 2027 but said they are unable to continue Ford edge production due to supplier constraints and emission requirements.
So this is the last month. Get ‘em while they’re hot!

I think auto start stop is nothing more than a way to prematurely wear out your battery, starter and flywheel ring gear. You don't save any fuel and it is nothing more than a scam. Be glad it does not work. In the end, you will save money.
Not true at all. It saves about 5% on average and I’ve noticed the difference when mine stops working. They’ve upgraded the battery and the starter to handle the added wear. You may not like it but it’s definitely not a scam.- 2

I posted this in another thread, but:
I don't have much to back this up, but my start-stop wasn't working for months stating that it was disabled for vehicle charging. I even threw it on the battery charger for a few days & it still wouldn't work. I went into FORScan & reset the BMS & my start-stop function has returned to normal.
The car would sit for days on the charger & the start-stop function wouldn't work, even when the charger would indicate that it's in trickle mode, aka fully charged.
Figured I'd need to drive it around more, so I'd unhook it & go for a couple hours drive at highway speeds & it still wouldn't work. Got curious & went into FORScan & did a BMS reset & it's back to normal.
As I said earlier, I don't have much to support this, but I think that the BMS lies. It was almost 3 years to the day that I purchased our 2020, (10/2020) when the start-stop feature quit due to vehicle charging. I reset the BMS in January & it's been fine ever since
When you charge it you have to put the negative cable on the body not on the battery. That way the charging goes through the battery sensor.- 1

Are you sure it’s engine oil?

Works fine for me.

It was hidden so I unhid it. Try again.

The alternator output is variable and controlled by the PCM so it may not be constant.

Great in theory but not in practice.
It never works when I want it to, and only works when I don't!
You need to kick straight in and up like you’re touching the shoelaces to the bottom of the bumper 1 foot to either side of center. Don’t wave it back and forth. Mine works 99% of the time. -

I have a 2013 Ford Edge and I replaced the batterywith a bigger battery and with a warranty. Today was to 4th day with temp between 30-40deg and "check charging system turn power off to save battery" warning appeared and car is dead. Any ideas what is happening?
Did you reset the battery monitor when you replaced the battery? If it’s really dead then you either have a parasitic draw or you’re not driving it enough to keep it charged. -
I would not assume the clock spring is functioning normally.

Sorry but I'm a little confused on the vehicle application, if someone could clarify I would appreciate it. The TSB says 2015 - 2017 Edge would be eligible for the new oil pan. I thought later years were using the rtv sealant on the oil pan also? Unless it's referring to those years also needing the valve covers.
I only have about 35,500.miles on my 2019 but so far have not noticed any oil leaks.
This TSB is only applicable to 2015-2017. It’s not an extended warranty - it’s subject to the normal warranty coverage if you have a leak. There could be a different TSB for the 2019s or they may already have the updated pan.- 2

Someone mentioned this might be a good replacement for both Fusion and Edge buyers. How would you guys feel about it?

I have the same problem when taking corners briskly, driving more than 5 miles over the limit or speeding up to make it through a yellow light. I thought about getting rid of it but that would cost me half of everything I own. ??

Egde ST, The heated steering control in not on the climate control page, seems like an afterthought from software engineers.
Sync 4 fixed that on our Nautilus - it’s on the small inset screen. -
Yes it’s normal and yes it can be added if you can find one. At least that used to be the case. They started deleting them a few years ago.

This is the same bad valve issue (incorrect heat treatment by the supplier) that affected the Broncos. They’re just expanding the scope to other vehicles. The ones that fail do it early so most have already been replaced under warranty.

Just FYI - it’s not a battery light and it doesn’t mean the battery is bad. It’s a check charging system light and it means the alternator isn’t charging the battery properly. It doesn’t mean anything unless the engine is running so fix that first.

I don’t see why not

They are probably correct, yet it is odd that both Ford (via the fact you can't order an ST with upgraded brakes with a spare) and the dealer telling me they won't work.
I had a similar situation with my prior vehicle, a 2017 plug in hybrid fusion. It did not come with a spare, I thought due to not enough storage space in the trunk due to the batteries, but it turned out the spares would not fit over the regenerative braking on the hybrid and plug-in hybrid models. I tried several spares that said they would fit, but they didn't. I do a lot of road trips, so what I did is got another rim and put one of my old tires on it when I bought new tires. Wrapped it up and put it in the back seat when we drove it to nowhere Wyoming one year. I just won't drive a car with no spare anymore. When I ordered my Edge to replace the Fusion I was very careful to get one that had a spare come with it.
Good luck to Gunner in finding one that works.
It’s possible the factory mini spare is 17” not 18”. Only one way to find out.

First rule of troubleshooting- undo whatever you did and go from there. Probably got some wires crossed.
