  1. Here's an oddity after install of the USB Hub:

Hub has been working great, used Carplay a few times already. I wanted to see if I was able to have my iPod hooked up/playing while having Carplay also in use. I had one OEM Lightning cable and one after market in my car so I tested with those. I couldn't get Carplay to register from the after market, so Carplay was working with the OEM. Carplay was on, but then couldn't get the iPod to register at all. I unplugged both, restarted my phone. Now neither cable will register either iPhone or iPod or charge or load up Carplay.

I was wondering if anyone had any similar experiences. I'm going to go out there with another OEM cable, with a fresh reboot of phone and car and see if anything changes.

  2. Mine has done this in the past, but I noticed if I formatted the ipod and resynced it the noise went away. From what I gathered I think it has to do with the syncing process and the only way I could correct it was to format....not a big deal though...

By format it.... what do u mean? Restore it to default n put the music back on?

  3. I've noticed that my speakers make little cracking/popping noises when I have my Ipod plugged in via USB. When I'm listening to the regular radio/Sirius the speakers sound fine.

Is this something anyone else has experienced?? I was going to call my dealership and have them take a look at it, my edge is only a month old.

  4. If you are just looking for a good ball park price to statr from, I just bought two new cars at once a 2011 Fusion and A 2011 Edge Ltd. The salesman gave me invoice on both. If you compair invoice to MSRP with out taking into consideration the license & Title, electronic filing fee, sales tax Doc Fee,Finance charges and rebates the difference between my invoice and MSRP was 6.68% Hope this helps

I've went to two different dealerships and when I mention invoice price they tell me I'm already getting a great deal. I'm a noob @ this car dealing game and i'll tell ya it's quite frustrating lol

  5. Ask to see the invoice. Look up the vehicle options at kbb.com, take their dealer invoice price and add $500 - this will be within $200 or so of the actual dealer invoice (kbb.com and other internet pricing sites don't include the advertising fee which is a legitimate part of the actual dealer invoice - thus the extra $500). Ask about the documentation fee - this is additional profit and generally runs $300-$400 but could be much higher.

I saw the invoice, he showed it to me on the screen 33,360.

KBB says 32,799 which +500 gives a round about dealer invoice. So his numbers to finance does make sense w/the interest rate he said I would get. Next I must call marketing dept and see if they can research my requested brochure's... that $750 coup would be nice :))

This is all so overwhelming lol...

  6. That is possible depending on how much you put down, how much you've paid up to that point and how much the vehicle is actually worth.

Take the $0 down lease (or close to it). The dealer can still buy your car for the trade-in price and give you the cash. Use the money to reduce your monthly payments during the lease if you need to. If not you have extra money to put down on the loan to buy the car after the lease.

Hopefully I can get some kind of loan from my credit union and avoid all the rest. Plus I still haven't seen an official pricing break down b/c the car is coming from another dealership. He swears it's invoice price......it's so hard to trust a car salesman!

  7. Who told you NEVER put cash down on a lease? It depends on what you're trying to do.

Do you plan to keep the car after the lease (buy it out) or turn it in and walk away?

Will your financial situation be better in 3 years?

I read some things online through forums and articles and also word of mouth. Mainly what I've been told is if god forbid the car was totaled that down pmt is gone and will never been seen again.

Yes my plans are to keep the car. I went in there with a finance only state of mind. Not looking to get into a new car after the lease terms are up.
