  1. Hi, I have a 2007 AWD and I've got some vibration issues in the right front wheel. About a year ago I had a similar situation with the left front and they replaced the axle and a bad tie rod. That fixed that problem. Three months ago there was a loud whining noise from the power train and they replaced the transfer case, That fixed that problem. Most recently, I started getting a bad vibration when under moderate acceleration and they replaced the right front axle. That fixed about 90% of the problem and I didn't notice any problem with accelerating in a straight line from a dead stop, but that only lasted about a week. Now, the vibration is back and it's pretty bad while under load - climbing a hill at highway speed, etc. I'm wondering if the transmission is causing this problem? It's weird that it went away with an axle swap. I took it to another mechanic and he said that the tie rods and wheel bearings seem fine. However, I notice a clunking sound with the car parked and I'm moving the steering wheel back and forth about 8" in either direction. It sounds like it's coming from the rack, inner tie rods to me. Has anyone else had this problem or any ideas what it might be. I don't want to keep dumping too much $ into it, but I've had it for 12 years and it's in good condition. Thanks in advance! Brian
  2. Hi folks, I've got a bad #4 fuel injector and I'm wondering if its possible to swap it without removing the manifold and both sides of the fuel rail. Since it's the front left and accessible I figured I'd ask. Thanks, Brian
  3. It is still under factory warranty so I'll bring it in and see what happens now that I know this. It looks like there are a couple of TSB's related to this. Much appreciated!!! 4. Hello, I know a lot of folks complain about the 2007 Edge & MKX rolling backwards on hills. While this is a bit annoying, I can deal with that since I've owned manual transmission vehicles and I know how to use two feet - it sounds like a lot of people don't and get harassing comments. I really care more about how the transmission engages. It slams into gear sometimes when I leave my street that has a small incline. I've also had it slam into 2nd gear (big bang) when trying to enter a busy highway and now I'm kind of nervous when having to do so after that experience. I plan to bring it to the dealer and have them check it out but I've heard many others say it's "normal and within spec's". Most vehicles I've owned idle in the upper 600's but this one is in the low 500's. Having it this low seems like the torque converter is slamming into action because of the low idle. I'm a backyard mechanic with most of my experience on the older non-computerized engines so I'd appreciate any help I can get with this issue. Thanks in advance!
