  1. Worked indeed like a charm. Replaced thermostat also while I was at it. Now everything works as it should. Interestingly, the fan speeds called out on the new module label were slightly higher than the old ones.
  2. Makes sense.. Thanks. Looks like the fan assy is Motorcraft RF-295 and on amazon for $242 right now. Less than I thought and replacement isn't difficult from what I'm gathering.
  3. 2008 Edge SEL ~180K mls with everything HVAC original, owned since 2011 This is my wife's car but I drive it quite a lot. The other day I noticed for the first time while sitting in a drive thru that the temperature gauge had gone all the way to the right by the time we took off. I've never noticed this since we had the car so I didn't think this was normal. When repeating the issue later, I found confirmed that - with AC off - the gauge went all the way to "H" before the driver side fan kicked in. Upon the fan running, the gauge went quickly back to the middle position. Next I set AC to 60 F, and it took a while and some driving for the passenger side fan to start up. Gauge however never again moved from the middle position (it was ~80 F outside) so all that seemed normal to me. My question is, would it be normal for the temp gauge to ever go to "H" before the first fan goes on? Or does this indicate an issue with the control module or anything else? Thanks for reading and any tips.... hopefully this hasn't been asked before. I haven't found anything on "almost, soon to be(?) overheating".
  4. So our 2008 SEL has those kinda rare aluminum wheels that are not chrome plated. Recently I discovered a 1-2 inch long scratch along the outer edge of the rim, which appears to be rather from a curb contact than a balance weight... see photo. I'd like to take care of that spot before the winter and salt take their toll on it. I asked the dealer but Ford does not have any touch-up pen or spray in that platinum like rim color. Which already gets me to my wits end as far as doing it myself, if there isn't even a professional way to match the color. Does anyone have a suggestion for a rim doctor or someone who is specialized in repairing damaged rims in central IL? Thanks a lot.
  5. I too consider to purchase a used 8T4T-18K931-BA factory NAV unit. The seller claims it is from a 2008 Expedition. I already took the original radio out to check the plugs and connectors, those would all match. This was really amazingly easy. So have you eventually had your unit program to work with Sync/the steering wheel buttons? Where do you guys place the GPS antenna? If I google for the part no. you stated for the antenna, nothing comes up.. so I'm guessing this number is not accurate. The unit I am looking to buy has the original antenna included, without the metal base plate though. Would you guys suggest a different (better) antenna? And what is Audiophile? How can I find out if my vehicle has it? Thanks!
