Your situation is definitely more than a "glitch". I could see Ford saying that for all the Sync issues but not for all of your other problems. I hope you are able to resolve the issue to your satisfaction.

Yeah they will update Sync to 2.8. It was scary driving with all the instruments out- like driving as if the car was off but only the engine worked. As I said above a potentially dangerous issue if the air bags were disabled because of it.

Hello all. I purchased my Limited in Dec 2010. At first like many others here MyFord Touch worked without a hitch. Then over the course of several weeks I started experiencing glitches such as the Nav screen locking up, audio system freezing when connected to my Iphone via USB, and having the screen go black into the "Performing maintenance.". From reading here I figured it was a glitch with the Sync software and would get it updated when Ford worked out the problems. Besides most of the issues were infrequent. Well just today as I was driving to work on the freeway, the whole MyFord Touch system goes black- including the entire gauge cluster. So I'm driving on the freeway without not only the Nav but also no speedometer, no fuel gauge, no turn signals, and more than likely no air bags. The system tried to reset several times but would continue to go out. Needless to say when I headed back home I dropped the Edge off at the dealer, who later called me to say that the entire cluster would need to be replaced. I searched but did not see anyone else with this particular problem. I'm wondering if any other owners have experienced something similar?
