  1. I've been thinking about adding Hella Micro DEs.

I as well. Wonder if the black panel at the bottom of the grill would be a mounting option. I've got a limited, not a sport, so it may be different on the sport. Too many other projects on the home front right now though.

  2. Doing a spark plug change is NOT rocket science.

My Rule #1 Don't pay someone else to do something you can do yourself.soapbox.gif

For those of us who are rocket scientists, however, it's sometimes better to let someone who is a real mechanic work on our cars.

  3. I have to say that I agree with akirby. If you want to point out an issue and ask for help/advise, that's one thing. If you want to be a negative whiny bitch and start a fight for no reason, it's another. You clearly don't understand the whole point of a site like this. Please know that I don't actually have an issue with you personally, but sometimes it's the right thing to do to swallow your pride when it's obvious that you're in the wrong.

    Ditto

And to add to that, akirby, in my opinion, does an excellent job moderating this forum. It's a thankless job and the pay ain't the best.

  4. I apsalutly love my Edge Limited. But, has anyone else noticed the body panels arent very flush with one another? The "fit and finish just doesnt seem very good.

Must be yours. The panels, doors, hood, and hatch are all fitted very well with even gaps and everything is flush on mine.

  5. The only thing that I do not like about my 2011 Edge Limited, is the fact that it does not have fog lights. Not even an option! I'm looking at adding them myself. Not liking anything that sticks out or looks added on; so I'm thinking of adding some 2" round Hellas behind the black panel below the chrome grille. Need to let the weather warm up a bit to check from the underside to see if there is room and a mounting point.

Has anyone added true fog lights to theirs? If so, what did you use and how did you mount them?

  6. I've got a Limited. Can't help you on the seats, since I only drove a Limited. Not sure if they insulate the Limited more or not. Would stand to reason. As far as the radio goes, the non-Sony radio is terrible. Spoke to the owner of the dealer where I bought mine, he said a lot of people test drive an SEL and listen to the radio, then drive a Limited, and listen to the radio, and they buy the Limited based on the radio. Of course, that is anecdotal evidence at best, and merely reflects opinion.

  7. Might do a search on this site for HID. There are some photos of where some have mounted the ballasts. I would not trust the tape alone to hold the ballasts. Some have posted there were existing holes that provided mounting points. I'm waiting for warmer weather, but will be ordering a kit from RetroSolutions. Their kit seems to be top notch, and from what I've seen on this forum and others, their support and customer service is top notch as well.

  8. If you have the Sony system, you already have a subwoofer. But to answer your question, yes you can add one without losing any factory items. You would need an amp, a subwoofer speaker and enclosure, and LOC (Line Out Converter) to convert speaker wire to RCA inputs to the amp (though some amps have speaker lead inputs). You'll also need a trigger wire to turn the amp on when the radio is turned on (but some amps with speaker lead inputs kick on when a signal comes in from the speaker lead inputs). I'm no expert on any of this stuff, so let some of the more knowledgeable fill in more info and perhaps correct any misgivings I've put down.

  9. If you don't report it to your insurance, and they later find out, they could possibly deny you coverage. At the very least, you should inform them for "information purposes only, at this time". That way, you have informed them, and if you find out the cost to repair is going to be too much, you can then start the claim process.
