  1. Good questions! 2011 Edge purchased April 7; Reality Samsung phone; and 2d tech at car dealer cannot get the Reality to reconnect. when I bought the car a tech got Aync to identify the phone and the phone to say that it was connected, but "connected wouldn't come up on the "phone" screen (upper left-hand corner). Whene used the Bluetooth Sync, he kept getting timed out (can't change that setting in the phone according to Verizon tech) trying to install by Sync instructions. He finally connected for no good reason by responding to a Sync screen that offered "other device" in the lower right corner which then took us to a screen where he put in four random numbers and we were connected according to the phone, but "connected" never came up on the upper left Phone screen. In exasperation we agreed that I should go to the local Verizon store, so my salesman took the car up the road to fill it with gas (nice touch), and when he got back, the phone was connected. All agreed that they had no idea what happened. It worked fine for 2 weeks. About a week ago I added a 'contact' to the cell phone and from then on the phone wouldn't fully connect - the 'Connect" screen recognized the phone but wouldn't connect. Brought the car back to the dealer for a try by another tech, who was ill at the time of my purchase. Was very knowledgeable about cell phones, and she could get to the Device screen, but could not get a complete connect. Then I went to Verizon, and one of their staff came out to the car and worked for about 20 minutes. She got a good deal further in the process by disabling an 'auto' function in the phone settings, and Sync would recognize the phone but not connect, The Verizon people called FordSync, and was told the phone is incompatible as are most Samsungs, though I note today Samsung is bragging about a new Droid! BUT I DO NOT NEED all the fancy-schmancy stuff, but I would like the cell-phone voice-command feature for use when not in the car; it must down-load contacts. preferably from Outlook (I have Windows 7) and of course, I want it to Sync. Ford says 'find the phone you want and call before purchasing' because I'm sure they've been accused of steering by the cell-phone industry. I'm overwhelmed with options, and don't want to spend more than $100 if possible. Lastly, my contract with Verizon is not up until July 2012, so whatever I get, I have to live with. Verizon has suggested as refurbished LG basic flip phone which if I turn in my Samsung, will cost me $54--I don't think it will do either of my 'wants.'. Besides Amazon has two LG Flip Phones for peanuts but I have to investigate features. P.S. we won't have 4G for at least another year or so. Albany, NY, 90 miles away and the State Capitol doesn't have it yet! Hope this info helps - I'm just overwhelmed with the reality of options - no pun intended...........And thanks!

Ford probably doesn't issue a current list of compatible phones in fear of a suit, because Ford says 'find the phone you want and call before purchasing.' 3. Drove my Ford LTD Van to 157,000 miles, broken hearted that it was discontinued by Ford. But, darnit, wanted to stay loyal because Ford has been loyal to America and to its customers. Settled on the Edge LTD and am very satisfied. HOWEVER, have a Samsung phone which FordSync hates - magically hooked up by accident, but forever disconnected after adding new contact in the cell phone. Ford's list of compatibles is from 2008, and you have to call for whether or not what you want to buy now is compatible (particularly the auto phonebook download) with Sync. I'm stuck on Verizon until 2012 - any suggestions?
